December 11, 2012 Wing Enterprises Recalls Switch-it Stepladder/Stepstools Due to Fall Hazard; Sold exclusively at Home Depot

The recalled products are Switch-it Type 1A Stepladder/Stepstools rated at 300 pounds. The Switch-it is an aluminum ladder that can be extended from a 2-foot stepstool to a 6-foot stepladder. It has flared C-channel outer rails that fit over inner rails. The outer rails have orange rocker-type locks on each side to hold the outer rails to the inner rails. The words "Switch-it by Little Giant" appear on the front of the top platform. Recalled Switch-it stepladder/stepstools have the following date stamps: 10622S, 10623S, 10624S, 10721S and 10722S. The date stamp is located immediately below the orange locks on the outer rails. Part Number "15124" is on the black and orange notice label attached to the back of the outer rails. Read more.


April 1, 2012 Tricam Industries Recalls Easy Reach Step Stools Due to Fall Hazard; Sold exclusively at The Home Depot

The recalled products are Easy Reach by Gorilla Ladders 3-Step Pro Series step stools, model number HB3-PRO. The step stools have three plastic steps, a steel tubular frame and a plastic-molded tool holder. The model number is located on the underside of the middle step on a blue label. The label also states that the step stools are rated to support 225 lbs. Recalled step stools have a "J" stamped into the underside of the top step and/or the underside of the tool holder. January 20, 2011 Frontgate Recalls Step Ladders Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves Frontgate foldaway closet two- and three-step ladders. The ladders are made of mahogany wood and designed for use in walk-in closets. Catalog item numbers included in the recall are 11998 for the two-step and 11675, 11975, 30269, 37935 and 40645 for the three-step ladder. Read more.

October 18, 2007 Kong Maxx Ladder Stands Sold at Gander Mountain Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves Gorilla Kong Maxx Ladder Stands with model number 43032 and batch numbers G051507, G051507D, G061507D, G071507D, and G081507D. Model numbers are printed on the box only. Batch numbers are stamped on the vertical rail of the first ladder section. The stand is 19-feet to the shooting rail, or 16-foot 8-inches to the platform. The foot platform measures 17 ½ -inches wide. This is the only Gorilla, Inc. ladder stand with these dimensions. Read more.

November 23, 2005 Louisville Ladder Inc. Recall of Industrial Ladders

The recalled ladders are Type 1A industrial ladders with fiberglass rails and round aluminum rungs, and include the 14 model numbers listed on the chart with manufacture dates and date codes from November 2004 through March 2005. The model number and the manufacture date code for all models except the FA1012 and FA1016 model ladder are located on the model number/notice label on the side rail of the ladders. May 24, 2004 LB International Inc. Recall of Fold-Away Ladders Sold by Hammacher Schlemmer

The ladders were sold in three sizes. The 6-foot ladders that extend to 10 feet have model number 99067. The 7-foot ladders that extend to 12 feet have model number 99068. The 8-foot ladders that extend to 14 feet have model number 99069. The model number was listed in the firm's catalog and Web site, and used for ordering. Model numbers are not written on the ladders. Each ladder bears a label on the side rail that reads, "Multi-Purpose Heavy Duty Ladder." Read more.
