May 20, 2015 Hewitt Recalls Marine Winches Due to Injury Hazard

This recall includes Hewitt Machine & Manufacturing winches with model number 1501, 2001 and 2501 printed on the front label of the product. The winches can be used in various marine lifts. The products are silver, metal and measure 21 inches high by 12 inches wide by 8 inches deep. Recalled winches were manufactured December 2013 through September 2014 and have a date code in the MM YY format stamped on the front right side of the product. Read more.


September 20, 2012 Residential Elevators Recalled for Repair by ThyssenKrupp Access Manufacturing Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves LEV II, Volant and Rise residential elevators. The elevators were installed in residences with three or more floors. The elevator's four-digit model number is part of the longer serial number. Model numbers included in this recall are "RLWL" for the LEV II, "RLGL" for the Volant and "RLRC" for the Rise. The model/serial number is printed in the owner's manual and at the top of the elevator's controller, which is mounted at the top of the elevator in the hoistway or shaft. Read more.


March 7, 2012 Locker Brand Recalls Rx Lockers Due to Failure Leading to Allowing Unauthorized Access to Medicine Containers

The Rx Locker is a medicine bottle storage container. It is made of orange plastic with a white top resembling four pill containers. It has a metal, three-number combination lock on the front. Production batch numbers are printed on the bottom of the container. The recalled containers were manufactured between May 2010 to December 2010 and can be identified by the last six numbers in the production batch number. Recalled batch numbers end with: 052 010, 062 010, 082 010 and 122 010. Read more.

October 3, 1977 Joint Recall Of Lead Painted Produce For Blind Children Announced

October 3, 1977 Release # 77-103 WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 3) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in cooperation with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources and the American Printing House for the Blind, today announced the recall of 12 products which have excessive Lead content their paint. The products were produced and distributed nationwide by the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville, Kentucky, and are intended for use by blind children. these products are not normally found on retail shelves, but are sold by mail order to consumers, school systems, and government agencies. A regulation under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act establishes a 0.5% permissible level for lead in paint to reduce risk of lead poisoning to children who may ingest paint chips or peelings. No injuries or illnesses have been reported associated with the products now being recalled.
