April 21, 2015 Trek Recalls Bicycles Equipped with Front Disc Brakes to Replace Quick Release Lever Due to Crash Hazard

This recall involves all models of Trek bicycles from model years 2000 through 2015 equipped with front disc brakes and a black or silver quick release lever on the front wheel hub that opens far enough to contact the disc brake (see Figures 1 and 2). Bicycles with front quick release levers that do not open a full 180 degrees from the closed position, are not included in this recall. Read more.


April 16, 2015 Civia Cycles Recalls Hyland Bicycles, Aluminum Civia Fenders Due to Crash Hazard

This recall includes all Civia aluminum fenders sold separately as aftermarket sets and all Civia Hyland bicycles sold with the fenders as original equipment. The recalled fenders are round, designed for use with 700c wheels and tires and have the Civia logo on the front and rear sides of each fender. Fender sets came in black, blue, green, olive, red and silver. Hyland bicycles came in blue, green, olive and red. The bikes have "Hyland" on the top tube, "Civia" on the down tube and the Civia logo on the seat tube. Read more.


April 15, 2015 Husky Vertical Bike Hooks Recalled by Waterloo Industries Due to Risk of Injury; Sold Exclusively at Home Depot

This recall involves Husky® Securelock™ vertical bike hooks used with a Husky Trackwall garage storage system. The 3 by 3.5 inch black metal plate is mounted to the grooves in the Trackwall and the bike's tire is attached to a hook protruding from the plate. There are no markings on the hook. The Trackwall has "Husky" printed on the lower left corner. The hook holds up to a 35 pound bike. Read more.


March 26, 2015 Specialized Bicycle Components Recalls Aerobars Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves carbon and alloy Aerobars sold individually and with model years 2012 through 2015 Specialized Shiv bicycles and model year 2013 Specialized Transition Apex bicycles. The carbon Aerobar was sold in black with a white Specialized logo on the top side of the handlebar, and the alloy model was sold in black with no markings. Read more.


February 10, 2015 Marin Mountain Bikes Recalls Children's Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard; Handlebars Can Loosen

This recall involves Marin 2014 model MBX 50 and Tiny Trail boy's and girl's bicycles with 16-inch knobby tires. The single speed bicycles have high-rise handlebars and training wheels. The boy's bicycles were sold in red and have serial number HA14980XXXXXX. The girl's bicycles were sold in purple and have serial number HA14982XXXXXX. Serial numbers are printed on a foil label affixed to the underside of the base of the down tube. "Marin" is printed on the seat and the downtube. "Tiny Trail" or "MBX 50" is printed on the bicycles chain guard. Read more.


December 4, 2014 Salsa Cycles Recalls Bicycle Forks Due to Risk of Fall Hazard

This recall involves all aluminum Salsa Bearpaw forks sold separately and on Mukluk bicycles. The forks have date code 20130524, 20130710 or 20130826 stamped on the fork steerer, followed by "CWI2201BAN2" and a Salsa compass graphic on the bend of the fork blades. Consumers or the dealer will need to disassemble the front of the bicycle to access the steerer tube with the date code and model information. The forks were sold in "tequila lime" with black paint, "metallic gold," red and black. The bikes were sold in sizes x-small, small, medium, large and x-large. Read more.


December 2, 2014 Felt Bicycles Recalls Cyclocross Bicycles Due to Risk of Injury

This recall includes Felt Cyclocross bicycles 2015 models F65X and F85X. The 2015 F65X bicycle has a satin black aluminum frame with "Felt" printed in white letters and a diagonal wide white stripe next to a thin white stripe on the frame. The 2015 F85X bicycle has a dark red berry colored aluminum frame with diagonal stripes in black, mint green and yellow on the frame. The Felt logo is printed on the bike frame and the model number is printed on the chainstay of the bicycle frame. Read more.


October 29, 2014 Cane Creek Recalls Bicycle Shocks Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves Cane Creek Cycling Components DBINLINE bicycle rear shock absorbers. The shocks are marked with graphics that incorrectly identify the adjustment directions for High Speed Rebound (HSR) damping. HSR on the shock is decreased by turning the adjuster counter-clockwise and increased by turning it clockwise. The incorrect graphics present the opposite; that is, the plus(+) and minus(-) symbols are switched. The consumer can be misled or confused when adjusting HSR on these shocks. The shocks come in black anodized aluminum with the words "INLINE" marked on the air can portion of the shock and are attached to a full-suspension mountain bike frame. Recalled products have a serial number on the underside of the top valve body in the following ranges: AA00002 - AA07304 and SA00077 - SA03926. September 3, 2014 Orbea Recalls Avant Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves all Avant bicycles and carbon framesets sold with hydraulic disk brakes and all Avant bicycles and carbon framesets that are capable of being configured with hydraulic disc brakes. The model numbers are not marked on the bicycles and there is also no color or gender designation. The word Avant is in black or white on the top and head tube of the frameset and the word Orbea is in white on the top and down tube of the frameset. Read more.


July 31, 2014 Dynacraft Recalls Avigo Youth Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Toys "R" Us

This recall involves 20-inch Avigo Turn N' Burn youth bicycles with model number 8107-62. The model number and date of manufacture, "08202013," are printed on a data label on the frame's seat tube. The bicycles have a silver frame, blue handlebars and black front fork with blue accents, hand brakes and a kickstand. The serial number can be found etched on the frame on the underside of the bottom bracket shell. Serial numbers included in the recall have: letters "DJFH" followed by a six-digit number between 026588 and 027104, and between 089533 through 090562; or the letters "DJFI" followed by a six-digit number between 015107 and 015552, and between 100093 and 101193.
