October 21, 2011 Electric Motion Systems, LLC Recalls Lithium-Poly Battery Pack Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled product is a black lithium-poly 37 volt, 10Ah battery used in electric bicycles and propulsion systems. The battery is 8.75 inches x 5.75 inches x 3.25 inches. “E+” appears on a label on the side of the battery. Recalled batteries have “EMS# 11819-101” at the top right of the label with a serial number between 10001 and 10200. The batteries were sold on their own and as part of the E+ Flex Kits. October 20, 2011 Horizon Hobby Recalls Losi NiMH Battery Charger Due to Possible Burn and Fire Hazards

The Losi NiMH Start-Up Combo Charger is black, measures 4” x 2” and has model number LOSB9904. The model number is printed on the back of the product’s packaging with the bar code. A Losi logo sticker is on the front of the charger, along with another sticker bearing the instruction: “Use only with 7.2V NiMH Batteries 1500mAh or higher.” On the back of the charger is a sticker with voltage and current ratings for input (100-240VAC, 1.0A) and output (8.5V, 3A) along with another Losi logo. August 3, 2011 NexTorch Recalls Flashlight Batteries Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled product is a NexTorch NT123A flashlight battery, bearing the trademark ™ superscript, rather than registered trademark ® superscript. Its body is silver metallic-colored and has the NexTorch logo and the voltage (3 V) on it. The battery is often packaged with NexTorch flashlights. Read more.


August 2, 2011 Cloud Engines Recalls Pogoplug Video File Sharing Device Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the Pogoplug Video file sharing device. The device is a black desktop electronics box, measuring about 2.5 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and 5.5 inches high. It is used to stream and share videos, photos, and music and to provide remote access to files stored on drives attached to the device. The device has the word “Pogoplug” on the side. “Model: Pogoplug Video” is listed on a label on the bottom of the device. Read more.


May 27, 2011 HP Expands Recall of Notebook Computer Batteries Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are used with various model series of HP and Compaq notebook computers and include batteries that consumers were informed were not included in previous recalls. The chart below includes all notebook model numbers associated with batteries recalled to date. The computer model number is located at the top of the service label on the bottom of the notebook computer. Not all batteries matching the bar codes are being recalled. Read more.


April 19, 2011 Spot Recalls Satellite Communicator Due To Loss of Emergency Communications Capability

The satellite communicator tracks the user's location and sends the user's GPS coordinates and a distress message in the case of an emergency. The device is black with the SPOT logo and the word DeLorme on the front. It measures 3 inches x 2.6 inches and is bundled with the DeLorme Earthmate PN-60w GPS. The GPS is not subject to this recall. Affected products have Electronic Serial Numbers (ESN) from 0-2000000 to 0-2019999. The ESN is located on a label under the battery. Read more.


April 19, 2011 Lithium-Ion Batteries Used with Bicycle Lights Recalled by GeoManGear Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Magicshine Series I and Series II lithium-ion batteries. The batteries were sold with bicycle light sets with the following models: Magicshine 900 Lumen (MJ-808), 1400 Lumen (MJ-816) and Tail light (MJ818). The batteries were also sold separately. The Series I battery comes in a nylon pack enclosure and the Series II in an aluminum pack enclosure inserted into a fabric sleeve. The model number is found on the product packaging. The Magicshine logo is found on the sleeve covering of the Series II battery. Read more.

This recall involves the Niles iRemoteTS and iC2 remote control systems. These are wireless remote control devices that are designed to operate audio, video and home theater systems from a single remote control. The iRemoteTS measures 5.4 by 6.2 by 1.25 inches. The Niles logo is featured in the top-left corner of the unit. The iC2 measures 5.2 by 3 by 7.5 inches. “iC2” and the Niles logo are printed on the front of the unit. Read more.
