January 30, 2007 Old Williamsburgh Candle Corp. Recalls Mason Jar Candles Due To Laceration and Burn Hazard

This recall involves all scents and colors of Mason Jar Candles in 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 oz. sizes. The size of the candle is specified on the label at the bottom of the jar, on the last line of the label. Replacement Mason Jar Candles, which are not included in the recall, have a "Q" on either side of the label. Read more.


January 25, 2007 Sally Foster Inc. Recalls Tea Lights Candles for Fire Hazard

The recalled tea lights were sold as part of the three-piece Glass Candle Holders with Tea Lights Set, item number S106 in the Sally Foster catalog and Web site. The product's packaging was marked "Votive Holders with Tealights-Set of 3" and "Item Number 2006 157." Only the white tea light candles with clear plastic shells are affected. Products delivered after December 8, 2006 included tea lights with metal shells and are not included in this recall. The glass candle holders sold with these tea lights are not subject to the recall and consumers may continue to use them. Read more.


January 12, 2007 Pumpkin Candle Holders Sold by QVC Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard

The product is the "Heartfelt 3 Glass Pumpkins with Tealights and Garland by Valerie." It consists of three separate glass candle holders of three graduated sizes which are shaped like pumpkins. Each set includes six tea light candles, as well as a glass bead decorative garland. The pumpkin candle holders were sold in either clear glass or an amber color. Read more.


November 21, 2006 Pottery Barn Recalls Gourd Candles for Fire Hazard

This recall involves five styles of individual gourd-shaped candles and a set of eight mini-gourd candles. The style number for the candles can be found on the price ticket, receipt or shipping invoice. Read more.


August 14, 2006 Ballard Designs Inc. Recalls Potted Candles for Fire Hazard

This recall involves Toulon potted candles that were sold individually and as a set. The larger, citronella-scented single candles were sold in cream, green and terracotta. Candles sold as a set include four smaller candles with cream or green pots and were sold in citronella and unscented. Item numbers involved in the recall are AW058 (single) and AW057 (set). The pots have a raised floral and garland design. Read more.


July 26, 2006 Meijer Recalls Glass Candleholders for Fire and Laceration Hazards

The clear glass candleholders are vase-shaped and measure about 11-inches tall. "At Home with Meijer" is printed on a label on the bottom of the candleholders. Read more.



June 26, 2006 The Swiss Colony Recalls Money Bag Candles for Fire Hazard

The recalled product is the "Money Bag" candle, which is 3 ¾-inches tall and green in color. There is a gold glitter dollar symbol on the front of the candle and the candle is molded in the shape of a bag. Inside the candle is a varying amount of money from a $1 coin to a $50 bill. Hang tags on the candle identify the candle as "The Money Bag by The Original Treasure Candle, ® Inc." They were sold under item numbers BI4372, BR4372, RA7372, RB4372, RG4372 and RW4372. May 9, 2006 Mini Fireplace Candle Kits Recalled for Fire Hazard

The recalled Fireplace in a Box kit includes a 2.5-inch high by 2.5-inch wide plastic fireplace that resembles stone masonry with a black mantle, a tea light candle to fit inside the fireplace, and a small booklet "Fireplace in a Box." "Fireplace in a Box," "Mega Mini Kits," and "ISBN 0-7624-1603-3" is printed on the fireplace's packaging. Read more.
