CPSC, Lands' End, Inc., Announce Recall of Little Kids' Parkas

PRODUCT: Parkas - Lands' End Inc. of Dodgeville, Wis., is voluntarily recalling approximately 6,000 children's parkas. The recalled parkas are style numbers 79725 and 79721. Style numbers can be found on the top line of a small label that is immediately behind the larger garment care label. (On the reversible down parka, shown below at left, this label will be found inside the pocket. On the fur-trimmed down parka, shown below at right, the label can be found on the neckline.) The parkas were sold through the Lands' End catalog, web site and certain Sears, Roebuck and Co. retail stores from November 2002 through mid-January 2003 for $79.50 or below.

PROBLEM: The zipper box may detach, allowing the zipper slide to detach. The small parts, if detached, could pose a risk of choking.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES: Lands' End, Inc. has received reports of the zipper detaching, but no injuries have been reported.

WHAT TO DO: Consumers should immediately stop using this product and contact Lands' End toll free at (800) 200-6212 or visit the web site at www.landsend.com Many purchasers were contacted directly by letter and provided with a replacement parka. If you have not received a letter regarding this product, please contact Lands' End to discuss the return, refund or replacement of your child's parka.
