CPSC, Hanna Andersson Announce Recall of Children's Corduroy Overalls
The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Children's Corduroy Overalls
Units: About 1,900
Manufacturer/Distributer: Hanna Andersson of Portland, Oregon
Hazard: The buttons on the front and side panels of the overalls can detach from the garment, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received two reports of the buttons detaching from the garment. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled corduroy overalls, style number 27267, are made of 100% cotton corduroy and sold in colors red and blue. They are finished with two buttons in the front that attaches to the shoulder straps, two buttons on each side, slash pockets, and a large bib pocket in the front.
Sold at: Exclusively through Hanna Andersson's catalog, Hanna stores and Web site from July 12, 2004 through October 15, 2004 for about $38.
Manufactured in: Hong Kong
Remedy: Hanna Andersson will notify all known purchasers by mail regarding a refund.
