March 10, 2016 Carlin Recalls Williamson and Thermoflo Furnaces and Boilers Equipped with Carlin Burners Due to Fire Hazard (Recall Alert)

The recall includes Williamson and Thermoflo furnaces and boilers with Carlin oil burners with an installation date label between April 1, 2015 and November 31, 2015. The installation date is printed on a label on the outside of the furnace or boiler. Recalled furnaces have a Carlin burner inside of the furnace, behind the furnace grate. Recalled boilers have a Carlin burner attached to the outside of the boiler enclosure. "Carlin" is printed in white letters on the face of the burner nameplate. Read more.


February 25, 2016 Viessmann Recalls Gas Boilers Due to Fire and Carbon Monoxide Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves the Vitodens 200-W condensing gas boilers used for residential use. These wall-hung units are housed in a white metal box that measures about 43.5 inches tall by 19 inches wide by 21 inches deep. There are two models: B2HB-45 and B2HB-57 included in this recall. The name "Vitodens" and "Viessmann" are printed on the label on the outside of the boiler box. The product name and model number can be found on the boiler rating plate located on the left side of the white boiler cover. The serial number can be found on a separate label under the boiler cover or on the left hand side of the unit. Recalled boilers do not have a blue dot with a handwritten data label on it. October 9, 2014 Fluid Handling Recalls Low Water Cut-Off Control Units for Hot Water or Steam Boilers Due to Fire and Explosion Hazards (Recall Alert)

This recall involves McDonnell and Miller series 750 Low Water Cut-Off control units, which in connection with a water level sensor, are used as a primary or secondary safety control on hot water or steam boilers to signal the boiler to provide protection in low water conditions. The unit is mounted on the outside of a boiler, generally near the boiler's main electrical panel. They are black and measure about 6 inches high x 5 inches wide x 2 1/2 inches deep. The units have a green LED "On" light, a red LED "Low Water" light and test and manual reset buttons on the top. "McDonnell and Miller," "Guard Dog," "Low Water Cut-Off" and model numbers 750-MT-120, 751-MT-120, 751P-MT-120 or 752P-MT-24 are printed on a white label on the outside of the unit. June 10, 2014 Weil-McLain Recalls Ultra Series Boilers Due to Risk of Fire, Explosion

This recall involves Weil-McLain Ultra models 80, 105, 155 and 230 MBH gas-fired boilers used for space heating. The boilers have a serial number range between CP 6557046 and CP 6955985. Model and serial numbers are located on a bar-coded label affixed to the lower right side of the boiler, behind the removable front panel. The boilers have a Weil-McLain logo plate affixed to the front, a pewter/flat black cover and are either freestanding or wall-mounted. Read more.


January 9, 2014 New Yorker Boiler Recalls Home Heating Boilers Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazard

This recall involves New Yorker Boiler PVCGA model cast iron hot water boilers that use natural gas or liquid petroleum to heat water for residential space heating. The boilers are green in color, about 38 inches tall and about 26 inches deep and range from 11 to 30 inches wide. The front cover of the boiler is vented and has the New Yorker Boiler logo. Recalled boilers were manufactured between May 2012 and February 2013. The model number, serial number and manufacturing date are located on a silver label on the inside panel. The manufacturing date appears in the upper right corner of the silver label in the MM/YYYY format. This recall involves U.S. Boiler ESC, PVG and SCG model cast iron hot water boilers that use natural gas or liquid petroleum to heat water for residential space heating. The boilers are light blue in color with black trim, about 40 inches tall, about 26 inches deep and range from 12 to 31 inches wide. The model name and U.S. Boiler logo are on the front cover of the boiler. The front cover of the boiler is vented. Recalled boilers were manufactured between December 2005 and February 2013. The model number, serial number and manufacturing date are located on a silver label on the top panel of ESC models and on the inside of PVG and SCG models on the right side panel. The manufacturing date appears in the upper right corner of the silver label in the MM/YYYY format. This recall involves Crown Boiler CWD series cast iron hot water boilers that use natural gas or liquid petroleum to heat water in home baseboard, floor or radiator heating systems. The boilers are red and gray, about 37 inches tall, about 23 inches deep and range from about 16 to 42 inches wide. The Crown Boiler logo is on the front of the boiler. Recalled boilers have model numbers that begin with CWD and were manufactured between May 1, 2005 and July 1, 2013. The model number and the manufacturing date are located on a white rating label located on the upper right side of the boiler. The manufacturing date appears under "Series" in the MM/DD/YYYY or M/D/YYYY format or as a two-letter code. August 9, 2010 Bosch Thermotechnology Recalls Boiler Survey Kits Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled product is a service kit that was distributed for free to some contractors and distributors that contained a silver-colored adapter. The kit, which has the number 8718600187 on the side of the box, was used as part of a program to evaluate the effects of heating water quality on components of Buderus gas-fired condensing gas boilers with model numbers GB142/24, GB142/30, GB142/45, and GB142/60. September 22, 2009 Gas Boilers Recalled by Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hazard

The recall involves the Buderus GB312 gas-fired, floor standing condensing boilers. Model numbers included in this recall are: 312/90, 312/120, 312/160, 312/200, 312/240 and 312/280. “BUDERUS GB312” is printed on the front of the boiler. The boilers are blue, approximately 60 inches high and between 39 and 55 inches wide. Read more.
