July 15, 2015 Avon Recalls Nut Chopper Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves a nut chopper sold by Avon. The recalled nut chopper is 7 1/2 inches tall and has clear plastic upper and lower chambers connected by an orange plastic grinding mechanism. The grinding mechanism has metal tines and a metal crank arm with an orange plastic grip handle. The lower chamber has a removable orange base and markings that show it holds about 1 1/4 cup of materials. The upper chamber has orange plastic lid. The product identification number found on the outside of the Nut Chopper individual, corrugated box packaging was F3730731 and the brochure number was 978-044. Read more.


September 3, 2014 iDevices Recalls Temperature Probes Due to Ingestion Hazard

This recall involves all Pro Ambient Temperature Probes and Pro Meat Probes manufactured from May 2014 through June 2014. The probes were sold separately as an accessory for the iGrill, iGrill2, iGrillmini grilling thermometers and the Kitchen Thermometer and Kitchen Thermometer mini cooking thermometers. The meat probe was also sold as a component of the iGrill2 set. The probes consist of a curved stainless steel rod attached to a mini connector by a steel braided cable. Pro Ambient Temperature probes are about 6 inches long with a metal grate clip on the end. Pro Meat Probes are about 6 3/4 inches long. iGrill Pro Meat Probes and iGrill Pro Ambient Probes came with either a red or yellow rubber sleeve and an oval black plastic cord holder. Kitchen Thermometer Pro Meat Probes and Kitchen Thermometer Pro Ambient Probes came with a green rubber sleeve and a round white plastic cord holder. The iDevices logo is stamped into the top of the cord holder. Recalled probes have only two indentations, or crimps, in the base of the probe tube where attached to the braided cable. iGrill Pro Meat Probes and iGrill Pro Ambient Probes came in red packaging. Kitchen Thermometer Pro Meat Probes and Kitchen Thermometer Pro Ambient Probes came in green packaging. The iDevices name and logo and either "iGrill Pro Meat Probe," "iGrill Pro Ambient Temperature Probe," "Kitchen Thermometer Pro Meat Probe" or "Kitchen Thermometer Pro Ambient Probe" are printed on the front of the packaging. June 25, 2014 Coravin Recalls to Repair Wine Access System Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves all Coravinā„¢ 1000 Wine Access Systems. The system uses a hollow needle to penetrate a wine bottle cork and allow wine to be dispensed without removing the cork. The system is about nine inches tall and has a silver-colored, metallic tubular body with a detachable black plastic capsule cup attached to the bottom and trigger on the top. A black metal handle is attached at the top of the tube and a black metal, moveable bottle clamp is attached to the front side of the tube. A long, metallic needle protrudes from the underside of the handle. The Coravin name and logo appear on the front side of the tube. The system comes with a silver-colored storage base and two argon gas capsules. Read more.


May 14, 2014 Cabela's Recalls Electronic Jerky Blaster Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Cabela's Electronic Jerky Blaster, which resembles a caulking gun. The product has a black handle, a gold-toned 15" tube that holds the meat with "Cabela's Power Jerky" written on it and interchangeable tip at the end. The hand-held, battery powered appliance is used for making jerky sticks or strips. It was sold as a set with interchangeable tips and cleaning brushes. The recalled item number IK-540848 can be found underneath the barcode on the cardboard packaging that comes with the product and on the front of the instruction manual. Read more.


May 13, 2014 Misty Mate Recalls Hand-Held Personal Misters Due to Risk of Laceration; Sold Exclusively at Hibbet Sports

This recall involves Misty Mate 2.5-ounce high pressure personal misters. The air misters are approximately 8 inches tall and are designed to spray a mist of water for personal cooling. They have a clear plastic cylinder to hold water, blue base and top and a nylon carrying strap attached to the top. The cylinder measures between 1.25 and 1.5 inches in diameter. A horizontal line with the word "fill" is printed on the cylinder. Read more.


April 24, 2013 Reed and Barton Recalls Gingham Bunny Forks and Spoons for Babies Due to Choking and Ingestion Hazards

This recall involves infant flatware from the Gingham Bunny Flatware Collection, sold three ways; as just the infant feeding spoon, in a fork and spoon set, and in a three-piece set including the infant feeding spoon with a bowl and bib. The flatware is silver-colored, nickel-plated and has a bunny with pink coloring on its ears at the end of the handle. Read more.


March 7, 2013 The Pampered Chef Recalls Garlic Slicers Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves The Pampered Chef garlic slicers sold individually and with a garlic peeler. The garlic slicers were sold under product numbers 1113 (individual) and 2578 (set). The two-piece white plastic, tube shaped slicer measures 2 ¼ inches by 3 ½ inches and has two blades on the end. "The Pampered Chef" is engraved on the top cover.

December 20, 2011 The Pampered Chef Recalls Ice Cream Dippers Due to Impact Injury Hazard

The dippers are metallic gray aluminum with a plastic dome-shaped cap on the base of the handle. “Pampered Chef” is imprinted in the cap. The ice cream dippers measure around seven inches in length. A non-toxic liquid is sealed inside the handle of the product which conducts the heat of your hand to more easily scoop hard ice cream. Read more.
