March 23, 2023 Burnham Commercial Recalls Natural Gas Boilers Due to Burn Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves the Burnham Commercial Series 8 EP Natural Gas Boiler and the Series 16H equipped with CSD-1. Both boilers are for commercial use and use natural gas as a fuel source. The recalled units have the Q3452B2100/B pilot with the 90-degree mounting bracket. The brand names "Burnham Commercial" for the Series 8 and "Crown Boiler" for the Series 16H are stamped in metal on the front cover. The model and serial number can be found on the boiler rating plate located on the vestibule panel located behind the front jacket panel of the boiler. March 9, 2023 Vornado Air Recalls Portable SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Vornado SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters with a "JUL22" date code and "TYPE SRTH" printed on the silver rating label located on the underside of the product. The electric space heaters are black and measure about 12.5 inches high by 6 inches wide by 6 inches in diameter and have two heat settings (low and high) and a fan only/no heat setting. "Vornado" with a red "V" behind it is located on the front of the unit. Only units with a date code of "JUL22" are included in this recall. The date code is printed on the silver rating label located on the bottom of the heater as the first five digits of the serial number. Read more.


December 8, 2022 Ortal Recalls Gas Fireplaces Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Ortal's direct vent gas fireplaces installed by professionals, with model names Traditional 90 (TR90) and Traditional 110 (TR110) TR. The fireplaces have a black finish and run on natural gas and propane gas. Model TR90 measures about 43.5 inches wide, 37.5 inches high and 24.5 inches deep; and model TR110 measures about 48.5 inches wide, 37.5 inches high and 24.5 inches deep. Model number US90XXTRP1SNXLXX or US110XTRP1SNXLXXX is on the rating plate located on the bottom of the fireplace near the valve control. Read more.


July 28, 2022 Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing (formerly Goodman Manufacturing Company, L.P.) Expands Recall of Evaporator Coil Drain Pans to Include Those Installed with Non-Condensing Gas Furnaces Due to Fire Hazard

This recall expands the scope of a previous recall that involved certain evaporator coil drain pans installed with condensing gas furnaces in an up-flow coil configuration. This recall involves ToolGuards portable water immersion heaters with a built-in thermostat. The recalled water immersion heaters have TOOLGUARDS, Model TG_IMH_01 and Batch Number PO100301 printed on a silver label on the black plastic base of the unit. This recall involves Shop LC personal electric space heaters. The heaters are black or white with a gold grill and were sold individually or in sets of two. The heaters sold individually have a dome-shaped top and a carrying handle. The heaters sold in sets of two are cylinder shaped. The heaters measure about 8.46 inches tall and 5.3 inches wide. November 18, 2021 Goodman Manufacturing Company Recalls Evaporator Coil Drain Pans Installed with Condensing Gas Furnaces Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves evaporator coil drain pans paired with residential condensing gas furnaces that are installed in a vertical, or "up-flow," configuration. Furnaces in this configuration that were installed or repaired with a new evaporator coil drain pan between January 2019 and November 2021 are affected by this recall. Only evaporator drain pans with serial numbers with prefixes ranging from 1901 through 2101 are covered by this recall. The evaporator coil, which sits atop the vertically installed furnace, will either be cased or uncased. The evaporator coil's serial number is displayed on a label attached to both cased and uncased models. For cased evaporator coils, the serial number is on the label attached to the coil case. For uncased units, the serial number is on a label attached to the front of the coil. It may be necessary to determine the brand and model number of your existing furnace in order to provide the correct repair kit. In most instances, the furnace brand and model number can be found on your furnace on the "Energy Guide" label. November 3, 2021 Usines Giant Factories Recalls Gas Water Heaters with Emerson Control Valves Due to Risk of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

The recall involves propane and natural gas water heaters in 40, 50, and 75 gallon capacities. The recalled water heaters are white with a red "Giant" logo decal on the front. The water heaters have a nameplate near the Emerson gas control valve with the following model number ranges. UG40-38LFPV2-P1U-US, UG40-40LFPV2-N1U-US, UG50-38LFPV2-P1U-US, UG50-38LFPV2-P2U-US, UG50-38TFPDV1-N2U-US, UG50-40LFPV2-N1U-US, UG50-40LFPV2-N2U-US, UG75-76MEPV1-N2U-US, UG75-76MEPV1-P2U-US. The control valves are black with a white "Emerson" logo on the front. The Emerson control valve model numbers and date code are located on a label on the right-hand side of the bracket holding the Emerson control valve to the gas water heater. The recalled control valve model numbers are 37H73A-301P1 (natural gas) and 37H74A-301P1 (propane) with a date code between 1821 and 1839. Read more.
