October 20, 2022 AQUALUNG Recalls Buoyancy Compensator Devices Due to Injury and Drowning Hazards

This recall involves Apeks Exotec SCUBA Diving Buoyancy Compensator Devices (BCDs). The Exotec is a back flotation-style BCD used to control a SCUBA diver's buoyancy underwater. The Apeks brand and Exotec model name are embroidered on the back panel and side pockets of the BCD and the metal components are gray or orange. Only model numbers BT1380108ML, BT1380108XLXXL, BT1380110ML and BT1380110XLXXL are included in the recall. The model number is printed on the label tucked behind the bladder between the tank attachment belt and the lower dump valve. Read more.


October 13, 2022 Cressi-Sub USA Recalls Scuba Diver Buoyancy Compensator Devices Due to Drowning Hazard

This recall involves Scuba Buoyancy Compensator Devices (BCDs) with LP inflator hoses. The LP inflator hoses attach to the regulator first stage of the BCD. The following Cressi base models, as identified on the label stitched to the pocket on the BCDs, are included in the recall: Patrol (IC74160), Quartz (JIC74190), Start (IC72170), Start Pro (IC72190), Aquaride (IC74080), Travel Light (IC7406), Commander Evolution (IC771000), and Scorpion (IC77000). Only inflator hoses with serial numbers 007/22, 019/22 or 035/22 stamped into the metal fitting that attaches to the BCDs are included in the recall. Read more.


April 14, 2022 Diving Inflation Valves Recalled Due to Risk of Hypothermia; Manufactured by SI TECH

This recall involves the Shell Inflation Valves with Int'l Nipples that come with diving dry suits and are also sold separately. The Shell Inflation Valve is used in recreational and technical diving. The recalled valve inflates the diving dry suit to allow the diver to equalize air pressure while descending in the water by pressing on the valve and it provides thermal protection to the diver. This recall involves Ocean Reef's Neptune Space Integrated Diving Masks. The full face scuba masks come in a variety of colors and sizes. The masks have a bellows style face seal, molded from silicone rubber, uses a "spring profile" and sealing surface. The masks serial numbers are engraved on the mask housing. February 21, 2019 Shearwater Recalls Diving Transmitters Due to Drowning Hazard

This recall involves Shearwater yellow pressure diving transmitters. The transmitters provide a tank pressure reading for scuba divers. The transmitter is yellow, with a cylindrical shape and measures 3 inches in length. "FCC ID: MH8A" is printed on the end of the transmitter. Part number 13009 or 13009-01 is printed on the cardboard packaging along with an 8 digit serial number starting in FK or BM etched on the side. Read more.


March 7, 2013 U.S. Divers Recalls Youth Snorkeling Mask Sets Due to Laceration Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Costco

This recall involves Martinique Jr. single paned, tempered glass youth snorkeling masks sold in a set with snorkel and fins. The masks feature a silicone face skirt, strap and adjustable buckles. The mask is blue with a silver accent piece that frames the tempered glass lens. The U.S. Divers logo is on the upper bridge of the mask as well as inset on the tempered glass lens. The lens is also labeled as tempered. The buckles are each printed with the U.S. Divers "wave" logo.

March 7, 2013 U.S. Divers and Aqua Lung Sport Brand Youth Snorkeling Masks Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves Santa Cruz Jr. single paned, tempered glass youth snorkeling masks sold under the U.S. Divers and Aqua Lung Sport brands. The masks were sold individually, with a snorkel or as a set with snorkel and fins. The U.S. Divers logo or Aqua Lung Sport logo is on the top of the mask as well as inset on the tempered glass lens. The tempered glass lens is also labeled as tempered. This recall affects all Santa Cruz Jr. Youth Masks manufactured before October 2011. Masks manufactured before October 2011 do not have a production code on the edge of the frame, near the nose pocket.

December 22, 2009 Diving Equipment Recalled by Dive Rite Due to Drowning Hazard

The Dive Rite Wings affected in this recall include the following models: Travel, Venture, Rec, Trek, Classic, Nomad and Super Wings. The wings were sold in red, blue or black. Springs were used on wings that have an opaque white or blue tinted bladder and welded in flanges. Wings with a black bladder are not affected. Only the Dive Rite wings that have a serial number range from 42000 through 72000 are affected by this recall. The serial numbers can be found on a white tag attached along a seam of the wing.
