February 11, 2021 Rep Fitness Recalls Strap Safety Brackets Due to Injury Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves PR-4000 (SKU No. PRA-4120) and PR-5000 (SKU No. PRA-5122) Strap Safety brackets. The SKU numbers can be found on the product packaging. Strap Safeties are designed to prevent damage to barbells due to missed lifts during weightlifting. The Strap Safety brackets are black and attach to the weight lifting posts of a squat stand to ensure the strap safeties stay in place. The straps on the Strap Safety products are secured to the brackets with heavy duty bolts. Consumers should retain the strap safeties and heavy-duty bolts. Only the brackets are being recalled. February 10, 2021 Nautilus Recalls Bowflex SelectTech Barbells Due to Impact Injury Hazard

This recall involves the Bowflex SelectTech 2080 Barbell with Curl Bar. The product consists of two metal bars, one straight and one curled, which are used one at a time. The bar is inserted into a base, and the user selects the number of weight plates needed to reach the desired weight by turning an adjustment knob. The barbells are black with a red Bowflex logo on the weight selector dial. The storage tray is marked with the name "Bowflex" and the Bowflex logo in the center. Read more.


September 20, 2018 Titan Recalls Weight Lifting Safety Straps Due to Injury Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves Titan weight lifting safety straps with steel mount brackets to hold the weights. The straps are used to catch the weights if a user were to drop them during an exercise. The recall includes straps with model numbers 24T3STRAP, 26T2STRAP, 30X3STRAP, 36T3STRAP, X2STRAP24, 24X3STRAP, 36X3STRAP. The Titan logo and model numbers are contained on the product's packaging. August 29, 2018 Cybex Recalls Weight-Lifting Equipment Due to Serious Injury Hazards

This recall involves the Cybex Smith Press model 5340, manufactured and distributed from 1989 through 1993, and model 5341, manufactured and distributed from 1993 through 2009. The models have a weight bar seated between two parallel vertical tracks on latch pins. The weight bar can be moved up and down to perform upper body and lower body exercises. The equipment is used primarily in fitness facilities. The weight bar was sold with the Smith Press, and the weights were sold separately. The model number is printed on the base of the frame of the Smith Press equipment. Read more.


May 20, 2015 Valor Athletics Recalls Olympic Weight Bench due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves Valor Fitness BF-38 Flat/Incline/Decline Olympic Benches. The benches are used to perform various free weight exercises. The recalled benches have a gray, steel frame that measures 53 inches long by 43 inches wide by 47 inches tall and have black, multi-position seat and back pads. They have adjustable bar supports with safety bar hooks and plate storage pegs on the rear of the uprights. April 25, 2014 Magnum and Matrix Fitness Multi-Station Strength Training Towers Recalled by Johnson Health Tech Due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves all Magnum and Matrix Fitness 900 Pro Series multi-station strength training towers used at commercial fitness facilities such as health clubs, hotels, apartment complexes and rehabilitation centers; schools and municipal facilities. The machines involved in this recall were sold in various multi-station configurations. The machines include, but are not limited to, the adjustable pulley, the dual adjustable pulley, the triceps push down and the bicep/tricep pull down. January 16, 2013 Powertec Recalls Weight Workbenches Due to Injury Hazard

The recalled workbenches are free-standing and typically used for free weight workouts. They have black, square tube, steel bases with a jet black, vinyl, adjustable bench seat and backrest. “Powertec” is embossed on the backrest pad and printed on a sticker located on the upright or the base frame of the workbench. This recall involves Cybex model 16110 plate-loaded leg presses used in commercial gyms. The leg presses have a metal frame, an adjustable backrest and can be ordered in a variety of colors. The name "Cybex" is located on the outer left side of the upper frame. The Serial Number label can be found on the lower main frame near the floor and ranges from D072216110 through G091416110.
