CPSC and Federated Merchandising Group Announce Recall of Girl's Capri Pant and Shirt Set

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC), Federated Merchandising Group, of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 1,000 Greendog® girl's capri pant and shirt sets. The buttons in the center of the embroidered flowers on the shirt can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

No injuries or incidents have been reported. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.

The recalled two-piece set includes a yellow or white, ruffled top with flowers embroidered along the bottom and denim capri pants with buttons on the bottom. The capri sets were sold in sizes 12, 18 and 24 months. The Greendog® capri sets have the style number 8088. The style numbers are printed on the hang tag.

Macy's, Burdines, The Bon Marche, Rich's, Lazarus and Goldsmith's sold the capri sets nationwide between January 2002 and February 2002 for about $26.

Consumers should stop using these sets immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or store credit. For additional information, consumers can contact Federated Merchandising Group toll-free at (877) 874-2812 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm's web site at www.fds.com/cpsc.
