The recall includes 5.0 kW Amana-brand, Comfort-Aire-brand and Century-brand PTAC units with model numbers PTxxx3x50xx (Amana) and EKTxxx-150x (Comfort-Aire and Century), and serial numbers 0702112056 through 0804237539. April 3, 2008 Goodman Manufacturing Co. Recalls Heating and Cooling Units Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Goodman single package gas-electric heating and cooling units with model numbers GPG13480901AC, GPG13481151AC, GPG13600901BB, GPG13601151BB, and GPG13601401BB, and with serial numbers beginning 0712, 0801, and 0802. December 20, 2007 McQuay Recalls Air Conditioners/Heat Pumps Following Fires

The recall involves the Remington and McQuay “ComfortPac” Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) and Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps (PTHP) commonly installed in hotels, nursing homes, and other commercial locations. November 7, 2007 Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps Recalled by Carrier Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Carrier-brand packaged terminal air conditioners (PTAC) and packaged terminal heat pumps (PTHP) manufactured between 2002 and 2005. Model numbers included in the recall are 52C, 52P, and unbranded model 84 units sold through the Bryant and FAST channels. Serial and model numbers are located on the rating/data plate on the right front of the unit, underneath the removable front panel. August 23, 2007 AC Adapters Sold With Network Hard Drives Recalled by I-O Data Device USA Due to Burn Hazard

This recall involves all AC adapters with model number IO-ACADP1510UL. The model number can be found on the AC adapter. The AC adapters were sold with I-O Data® network hard disk drives model number UHDL-160U or UHDL-300U. The model number for the network hard disk drive is located on a label at the base of the console. Read more.


November 30, 2006 Trane Recalls Air Conditioners after Incidents of Units Smoking

The recall includes 208, 230 and 265 volt models of the Trane PTEE and PTHE Series Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTACs). They were manufactured from about March 2006 through July 2006. The date code is F06C through F06G, and is written on the unit’s Manufacturer’s Data Plate located behind the molded plastic cover above the power connection. Read more.


October 19, 2005 International Comfort Products LLC Recall to Repair "Packaged Gas Electric" Heating and Cooling Units, or "Gas-Packs"

The recall involves certain limited "Gas-Packs" sold under the brand names Airquest, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Heil, Keeprite, Kenmore, ICP Commercial, and Tempstar. The affected units were manufactured between the 41st week of 2000 and the 26th week of 2003, and are installed outside the home. The model and serial numbers of affected units are printed on the unit's rating plate as shown in the photo below. Model numbers appear in the following typical format: PGC036K060A; serial numbers appear in the following typical format: L004112345. Affected models begin with PGC, PGF, PGS, GPFM, GPSM, or GPCM.
