Recalls: Coal or Wood-Burning Stoves

This recall involves 80% efficiency gas-fired furnaces sold under the Goodman, Amana and Daikin brand names used with home heating and cooling systems. The recalled products have model numbers beginning AMEH80, DM80HE, and GME8, and serial numbers beginning 1609, 1610, 1611 and 1612. The brand name is shown on the outside of the furnace, and the serial number is located on the label found by opening the furnace door. Read more.

This recall involves Smartstove free standing pellet stoves, with model number 55-SHSSP01 and serial numbers ranging from 101 through 2513. The cast iron pellet stove is about 36 inches high, 24 ½ inches wide, 24 inches deep and has a black satin finish. It has an arched glass door on the front with vents above the door. The Smartstove logo appears on the stove's control panel. The model and serial numbers are located on a black plate on the top right hand corner on the back of the stove. Read more.

The recall includes United States Stove Company's HomComfort 2400 24K BTU Pellet Heater/Stoves. These steel and polycarbonate products are gray and are used as a window mounted heating appliance. The heaters measure about 21.5 inches high by 24.5 inches deep by 23 inches wide. Serial numbers included in the recall are 0451 through 4420, 5681 through 5890 and 6301 through 6310. The firm name and serial number are printed on the faceplate attached by screws on the front bottom of the unit. Read more.

The recalled remote control kits are used with Dimplex, Electraflame, Symphony, Optiflame, Electralog and Charmglow brand electric fireplaces, stoves and fireplace inserts. They include a black or dark gray hand-held remote control and also a black or dark gray wall unit that plugs into an electrical wall outlet. Recalled model numbers include 47-1001, 47-1010-R and APT-1315. The model number is printed on either the plug-in unit or the hand-held remote control. The fireplace or stove's brand name is printed on both units. Read more.
