CPSC, Firms Announce Recall of Musical Pull Toys and Electric Fans

This press release consists of two recalls. Please choose the appropriate recall below.

  • Curious George Musical Pull Toys Recalled by Prestige Toy Corp.

Prestige Toy Corp., of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 4,600 Curious George musical pull toys for replacement. The toy is a stuffed fabric toy with Curious George holding two red and yellow balloons, attached by two retractable green fabric covered elastic cords. It can hang from cribs, playpens, or other juvenile furniture. A red tag on the toy reads in part "STYLE # 3490, Curious George Adventures, and Made In China." When the cords are pulled, the toy plays music as the cords retract. Kmart stores nationwide sold these toys from June 1999 through September 1999 for about $10.

  • Electric Fans Recalled by Agis Enterprises Co.

Agis Enterprises Co. Inc., of West Keansburg, N.J., is recalling about 11,800 electric fans. The fans being recalled are a 12-inch desk fan, a 16-inch desk fan, a 16-inch stand fan, an 18- inch stand fan with three legs, and an 18-inch stand fan with a round base. Writing on all of these fans includes "AGIS" and "MADE IN TAIWAN." Discount stores in the metropolitan New York area sold these electric fans from April 1998 through September 1999 for about $50.
