CPSC, Neiman Marcus Announce Recall of Plantation Furniture, Antique Mirror
PRODUCT: Furniture - Neiman Marcus, of Chesnut Hill, Mass., is voluntarily recalling approximately 49 furniture items. The recall involves: twin plantation bed headboards, queen plantation bed headboards, plantation nightstands and antique tin mirrors. The furniture was sold through Neiman Marcus and Horchow catalogues from May 1998 through May 2001.PROBLEM: The furniture could be painted with lead-containing paint. Ingestion of lead from deteriorating paint is a major source of lead poisoning for children 6 years old and under.
INCIDENTS/INJURIES: No injuries have been reported.
WHAT TO DO: Consumers should call Neiman Marcus at 800-888-4757 between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. CT Friday to arrange for free pick-up and a full refund.
