July 23, 2015 Husqvarna Recalls Lawn and Garden Tillers Due to Risk of Bodily Injury, Laceration

This recall involves Ariens®, Husqvarna®, Jonsered® and Poulan Pro® brand rear tine tillers used for plowing, cultivation and ridging gardens and lawns. The tillers have an engine to power the wheels and the rear tines, an operator handle with forward and reverse transmission and tilling widths ranging from 17 to 19 inches. The brand name is printed on the side of the tiller. They were sold in red, orange and yellow/black colors. The following model and serial numbers are included in the recall. May 12, 2015 Avalanche Rescue Snow Shovels Recalled by Mountain Safety Research Due to Risk of Failure During Emergency Rescues (Recall Alert)

This recall involves Mountain Safety Research Operator™ T, Operator™ D, and Responder™ avalanche rescue snow shovels. Lock buttons on the lower shaft connect the metal shovel blade to the metal shaft. Recalled shovels have a slit on either side of the lower lock button. The shovels measure about 32 to 34 inches long. The blades are red or yellow in color and the handles are gray. "Mountain Safety Research" is printed on the shaft of the handle. "MSR" is printed on the front of the shovel blade. Read more.


May 7, 2015 Snow Peak Recalls Japanese Axe Due to Laceration and Impact Hazards

The recalled Japanese Axe M has item number R-061 printed on the back page of the included manual. The black axe head measures 5-3/4 inches high by 4 inches wide and weighs 2 pounds. The axe handle measures 14 inches long and is made of light-colored maple. A small black snow flake (asterisk) is burnt into the handle near the hole at the end of the handle. The handle has a small hole near the end, which is used for hanging the axe. The axe was sold with a white leather holder for the axe head that attaches with a snap strap. Read more.

The trimmers are used in residential and professional applications for cutting grass and light brush. The cutting attachments include a trimmer head and metal blade. The trimmers are about 72 inches long and up to 28 inches wide. They are red and gray with either a bike or loop handle configuration. Three models are recalled in two engine sizes measured in cubic centimeters. They are 36cc models 8371 S and 8371 T, and a 40.2cc model 8421 T engine displacement. The brand "efco" and model number are printed on the front of the engine and the brand name also appears on the wand. Read more.


October 8, 2014 Fiskars Recalls Bypass Lopper Shears Due to Laceration Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Home Depot

This recall involves Fiskars Titanium Bypass Lopper shears with model number 6954. The lopper shears have 32-inch dark orange steel handles and black rubber grips with a gray strip. Plastic gears connected to the pruning blades allow the consumers to open and close the pruning blades by moving the handles. "FISKARS" is printed on one handle and product identification information, including model number 6954, is printed on a label on the opposite handle above the barcode. Read more.


July 2, 2014 All Power America Recalls Snow Throwers Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves All Power brand single stage snow throwers. The snow throwers are black and yellow and have a red cap on the gas tank. They have a 20-inch wide snow clearing width and an 87cc, 4-cycle engine. The model number of the recalled snow throwers is SB044P which is printed on a yellow and black sticker located on the top of the unit with the phrase "20 Inch Clearing Width." Read more.


March 5, 2014 Hitachi Koki Recalls Grass Trimmers Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

This recall involves twelve models of Hitachi Koki and Tanaka-brand hand-held grass trimmers. The gasoline-powered trimmers have either a green engine cover (Hitachi) or orange (Tanaka). The Hitachi or Tanaka logo is printed on the circular plate on the starter pull housing. Model and serial numbers are also located on the circular plate. March 5, 2013 Briggs & Stratton Recalls Ariens Compact Snow Blowers Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled snow blower is 24-inches wide and comes in orange with black. Recalled products have the model number 920014 and serial numbers ranging from 100,000 through 119,039 that can be found on an Ariens-brand label on the lower back panel of the product with the warranty code. There is also a Briggs & Stratton engine model number 13D1370110 F1 labeled on the side of the engine with the serial number range from 12053000000 through 12071699999. Engines with a circular black marker dot located on the right side of the engine base, below the electric starter and just above the oil drain plug, have already been inspected and are not part of this recall.
