October 30, 2013 Southern Telecom Recalls A/C Adaptors for Polaroid Internet Tablets Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Big Lots

The recalled adaptor, also commonly referred to as a charger, was included with the Polaroid PMID709 seven inch Internet tablet (also known as the PMID709KB). The adaptor has two prongs for plugging into an outlet on one end and a wire leading to a single plug for the tablet. A label on the bottom of the casing near the plug prongs has "Polaroid Power Adaptor" printed on it with the model number SX-30017-D. Read more.

October 24, 2013 Emerson Air Comfort Products Recalls Tommy Bahama Outdoor Ceiling Fans Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves Tommy Bahama brand 52-inch outdoor ceiling fans sold under the "The Copa Breeze" style name. The fan has model number TB311DBZ and a distressed bronze color. Each of the five oval-shaped paddles/blades has a metal accent in the shape of an oval with a figure-8 inside the oval. The lower part of the motor housing has "Tommy Bahama" embossed on it. A date code is represented by three letters printed on the lower right corner of a label on the top of the motor housing. October 24, 2013 Crate and Barrel Recalls Finley Hanging Pendant Lamps Due to Fire and Shock Hazards

This recall includes Crate and Barrel Finley Collection pendant lamps with a white or wheat (off-white) linen large, small drum or rectangular lamp shades. They have a 9-inch long silver electrical wire with tandem metal support cables and chrome-plated steel ceiling plate. The large lamp with SKU number 684-069 or 684-077 measures 12 inches high and 28 inches in diameter, the small lamp with SKU number 676-384 or 440-755 measures 12 inches high and 20 inches in diameter; and the rectangular lamp with SKU number 322-067 or 322-423 measures 14 inches high, 12.25 inches wide and 30 inches long. The lamps are illuminated by two 60-watt bulbs. The SKU number can be found on a white label inside the ceiling plate. Read more.

September 30, 2013 Festool Recalls Plunge Cut Circular Saw Due to Laceration Hazard

The TS 55 REQ is a small, portable, circular saw for woodcutting with a 160 mm saw blade, aluminum guide rails and a plunge cut feature. It is 12 inches long and has a gray blade housing and a midnight blue motor housing with a soft hand grip and green accents. The date code and serial number are found on a rating plate on the saw's motor housing under the main handle. September 12, 2013 Gree Recalls 12 Brands of Dehumidifiers Due to Serious Fire and Burn Hazards; More Than $2 Million in Property Damage Reported

This recall involves 20-, 25-, 30-, 40-, 45-, 50-, 65- and 70-pint dehumidifiers with brand names Danby, De'Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima. Recalled model numbers and date codes are listed below. The brand name and the pint capacity are printed on the front of the dehumidifier. The model number and date code are printed on a sticker on the back, front or side of the unit. The dehumidifiers are white, beige, gray or black plastic and measure between 19 and 24 inches tall, 13 and 15 inches wide, and 9 and 11 inches deep. August 7, 2013 LSI Recalls Wind Speed Sensors Due to Risk of Injury from Impact (Recall Alert)

This recall involves LSI model GS025 wind speed sensors with serial numbers 100015 and 100412. Model and serial numbers can be found on the underside of the product's base. The charcoal-grey colored sensor has "LSI" printed on one side and three windspeed cups on the top of the product. The 7-inch-high sensors are often used by crane operators to gauge wind conditions when lifting and moving items. Read more.

July 25, 2013 Lennox Hearth Products Recalls Fireplaces Due to Risk of Gas Leak and Fire Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves natural gas or propane Lennox and Superior brand fireplaces with the following model and serial numbers. Lennox model numbers include ELDV, LDV, MLBV-40, MLDVT, MPB, MPD, MPDP, RHAP54, and SYM. Superior model numbers include SDV, SLDVT and SLBV. Serial number have 10 digits starting with 6412D4, 6412E4, 6412F4, 6412G4, 6412H4, 6412D7, 6412E7, 6412F7, 6412G7 or 6412H7. The model, serial number and the Lennox or Superior brand names are printed on the rating plate located in the control box area of the fireplace. Read more.

July 25, 2013 Home Depot Recalls Soleil Portable Fan Heaters Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Soleil portable fan heaters with model number LH-707. The model number is printed on the underside of the fan on a sticker. The circular table fans are white plastic and are 1500 watts. Soleil is printed on the center front of the fan. The fans have a thermostat control on the bottom left front and a power and fan speed control on the bottom right front. The fans measure about 8 inches in diameter by 8½ inches tall. Read more.

July 23, 2013 Subaru Portable Gasoline Generators Recalled by Robin America Due to Fire, Burn Hazards

The recalled portable gasoline generators are Subaru models SGX3500, SGX5000 and SGX7500. They have yellow fuel tanks and black frames with collapsible handles. The word "Subaru" is on the fuel tank and is on the control panel under the Subaru logo. The Product, or Spec, number and serial number are on the end of the fuel tank above the wheels. July 17, 2013 Sears Reannounces Recall of Kenmore Dehumidifiers Due to Additional Reports of Fires, Burn, Low Consumer Response Rate

This recall involves Kenmore brand 35-, 50- and 70-pint dehumidifiers made by LG and manufactured between 2003 and 2005. The dehumidifiers are made of white plastic and are between 21 and 24 inches tall, about 15 inches wide and about 13.5 inches deep. They have a fan, humidity controls and a Kenmore logo on their top front panels. They come with front-loading water buckets. Some models include remote controls. The model number can be found on the right side of the interior of the unit once the bucket has been removed.
