April 7, 2009 Stanley and Solarwide Industrial Recall Stud Sensors Due to Shock Hazard

The recalled stud sensor models include the Stanley® Stud Sensor 200 and Stanley® FatMax® Stud Sensor 400 with model numbers 77-720 and 77-730. The model number is located in a slide-out reference guide found in the base of the sensor’s handle. The sensors are made of black plastic with a wide yellow stripe down the center. “Stanley” or “FatMax” are printed on the front of the product. A date code is printed on the inside of the battery cover. Affected sensors have date codes that do not begin with the letter “R.” Read more.

April 7, 2009 Honeywell International Recalls Vista Security System Control Panels Due to Failure of Panic Feature

This recall involves the following models of the “Vista Residential” series control panels: Vista-21iP, Vista-21iPSIA, FA168C-GP, 320P1, and GAV20P. Only panels with certain date codes are subject to the recall. The control panel is the main portion of the security system (not the keypad) typically located in an inconspicuous place in the home such as the basement, garage or closet. Read more.

April 2, 2009 Faulty Installation Instructions Prompt RadioShack Corp. Recall of Electrical Switches; Shock Hazard to Consumers

This recall involves the RadioShack Illuminated Round Rocker Switch, catalog number 275-0021 and a date code of 01P09, or January 2009, and earlier. The switches are used as replacement on/off switches for electronics or for use in hobby projects. The wiring diagram, the catalog number, and manufacturing dates are located on the back of the product’s packaging. In the date code MMPYY, MM is the month and YY is the year. Read more.

March 26, 2009 Outerwears Inc. Recalls Filters Used in Fuel Funnels Due to Fire Hazard

These filters are used to fuel-up off-road and racing vehicles. The recall involves Outerwears Funnel Pre-Filters, or fuel funnel pre-filters, with the model numbers 20-2465-03, 20-2466-03, 20-2467-03, and 20-2474-03. The red fabric mesh filters were available in two sizes, small and large, and in two different shapes to accommodate various sizes of fueling funnels. The name of the manufacturer, Outerwears, is the only marking on the product. Read more.

March 26, 2009 Cordless Stick Vacuums Recalled by Electrolux Home Care Products Due to Bursting Batteries

This recall involves 2-in-1 cordless stick vacuums with a detachable hand vacuum and free-standing charger. Units involved in the recall have 9.6-volts printed on a serial plate on the underside of the handheld unit, and the following serial numbers: 074000001 through 085100001 and 74000001 through 85100001. March 18, 2009 Gas Generators Recalled by Sycamore SCS Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the following models of the Sycamore Pro gas generators: APEX 3, APEX 7, APEX 6, EGS 3.2, EGS 4.8, and EGS 7. “Sycamore Professional” and the model name can be found on the front of the generator. All models are black and green and have side control panels. The APEX 3, 6, and 7 are portable generators and have two wheels. The EGS 3.2, 4.8, and 7.2 do not have wheels. Read more.

March 12, 2009 Kidde Recalls to Replace Fire Extinguishers Due to Failure to Operate

This recall involves the Kidde XL Fire Extinguishers with model numbers FX340SC, FX340H, FX340GW, XL5MR, FX210R, FX340SC-2, FX210W, XL2.5TCZ-4, E-340-3 and with manufacture dates between October 2007 and April 2008. “Kidde” and the model number can be found on the label on the front of the extinguisher. The manufacture year is on the bottom of the extinguisher.
