CPSC, Toro Company Recall Riding Lawn Mowers

The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: TimeCutter Z Riding Lawn Mowers

Units: 7,500

Manufacturer: Toro Company, of Bloomington, Minn.

Hazard: The actuator arm could fail, resulting in a loss of transmission control and risk of personal injury.

Incidents/Injuries: One consumer reported loss of control resulting in a tip over. The consumer received a black eye, along with cuts and bruises.

Sold At: Authorized Toro dealers sold these tractors nationwide from January 2003 to April 2003 for between $2700 and $3300.

Manufactured In: U.S.A.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using their riding mowers until free repairs can be made. Contact a Toro dealer immediately for a free repair.
