August 16, 2006 Black & Decker Expands Recall of Cordless Electric Lawnmowers Due to Fire Hazard

The mowers were sold under both the Black & Decker and Craftsman brand names. The recalled Black & Decker mowers have the model CMM1000 or CMM1000R and are labeled as Type 1 through Type 4, both of which are located on the silver and black label affixed to the rear door of the mower. Mowers labeled as Type 5 are not included in this recall. The Black & Decker mowers have either an orange or green deck with a black motor cover. The Craftsman-brand mowers have model number 900.370520 and include all date codes and types. The model number is located on the silver and black label affixed to the rear door of the mower. April 25, 2006 RedMax Backpack Blowers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The RedMax gasoline-powered backpack blowers are red and black with a white fuel tank. Model numbers EB6200, EB7000, EB7001, and EB7001RH can be found on the body of the blowers along with "RedMax," "Zenoah," and "Komatsu." Read more.



April 4, 2006 Tecumseh Engines Used on Various Power Equipment Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The recall includes power equipment with Tecumseh engines listed below. The engine model number and date of manufacture (DOM) information is located on a label on the side of the housing. The recalled engines have a date of manufacture code (DOM) that starts with 05241 to 05286. The label on the engine reads, "Tecumseh Power Company," and in addition to the Model and DOM information, lists the Spec number needed for identification. Read more.


January 25, 2006 Leaf Blowers Sold at Home Depot Recalled for Laceration Hazard

The recalled blower is used outside to blow, vacuum or mulch leaves. "Homelite" is printed on the top of the blower. The blower is red with a black nozzle, and weighs about 10 lbs. Model number UT08542 or UT08542A is printed on the operator's manual. Only blowers missing the black cover over the fan are included in the recall. "Homelite" and "Vac Attack II" are written on the fan cover. A bag connects to the blower to collect the leaves or mulch. Read more.


January 23, 2006 Country Home Products, Inc. Recall to Repair Cordless Electric Lawnmowers

The recalled lawnmowers were sold under the NEUTON® name and carry model number EM 4 1 NEUTON® printed on the front portion of the lawnmower. The lawnmowers are two shades of green and have a 14-inch cutting width with rear bagging capability. The serial number ranges of the recalled mowers are CE4049212 through CE4054902 and CE4061492 through CE4071541. The serial number can be found by lifting the rear discharge guard of the mower. October 18, 2005 Stihl Inc. Recall of Backpack Blowers

These backpack blowers have serial numbers ranging from 264264925 through 264740832 which are located on top of the engine's cylinder on the fin. The spark plug boot can be removed to view the serial number from the exterior of the blower. Read more.


February 1, 2005 Country Home Products Recall to Repair DR Leaf and Lawn Vacuums

The recalled vacuum is designed to be pulled behind a lawn tractor. The product vacuums leaves and grass, shreds them and collects the shredded material in a large storage chamber. The leaf and lawn vacuums have a red circle with DR printed in black on each side of the chamber. Read more.
