April 22, 2014 Remington Electric Leaf Blowers Recalled by MTD Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves Remington electric leaf blowers with model RM180B, item number 41AA180G983 and serial numbers ranging from S1E131XK0001 through S1E162XK2008. They were manufactured between May 13, 2011 and May 16, 2012. The third through sixth characters of the serial number identify the manufacturing date. The third character is the month, for example D for April, E for May and F for June. The fourth and fifth characters are the day of the month. The sixth character is the last digit of the year of manufacture. Model, item and serial number are located on a white label on the bottom of motor housing. The 7.5 amp electric blowers are black. Remington, Mighty Sweep and RM180B appear on a sticker on both sides of the unit. Read more.


February 23, 2012 ECHO Recalls Backpack Blowers Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves two models of the ECHO 2-cycle gas powered backpack blowers. The 25.4 cc blowers are orange and black in color and “ECHO” is printed on the pull starter housing and blower tube. December 11, 2008 The Toro Company Reannounces Recall of Electric Blowers Due to Projectile Hazards

The recall involves Toro Power Sweep electric blower model 51586 that was manufactured between 2000 and 2002. The recalled units have serial numbers that range between 000055100 and 220255609. There are two decals on the main housing of the blower. One decal reads, “TORO Power Sweep” and the decal on the opposite side of the blower contains the model number and serial number (shown by the letter “A” in the picture below). The recalled units can be identified by a black impeller fan, which can be seen through the air inlet screen on the bottom of the unit. Read more.


May 15, 2008 Shindaiwa Corp. Recalls Backpack Blowers Due to Laceration and Impact Hazards

This recall involves Shindaiwa Models EB8510 and EB8510RT. All models up to serial # 7014728 are included. The backpack blowers weigh approximately 24 pounds and include Serial Numbers through February 2007 production (S/N 702XXXX) which are located on the side label. This recall involves Shindaiwa Models EB8510 and EB8510RT. All models up to serial #7025018 are included. After serial number 7025018, the leaf blower has been upgraded with stainless steel muffler shells. The backpack blowers weight approximately 24 pounds and include Serial Numbers through February 2007 production (S/N 702XXXX) which are located on the side label.
