December 22, 2021 Essential Medical Supply Recalls Adult Portable Bed Rails Due to Entrapment and Asphyxia Hazard; One Death Reported

This recall involves the Hand Bed Rail (model P1410), Hand Bed Rail with Pouch (model P1410-P), Hand Bed Rail with Floor Support (model P1411), and Hand Bed Rail with Floor Support with Pouch (model P1411-P). The name "Essential Medical Supply, Inc." and the model number are printed on a label located on the grip handle of the bed rails. The rails are made of either chrome or white metal tubing and include black padding on the grip handle and under-bed frame. They measure approximately 17 inches to 21 inches high by 20 inches wide. This recall involves HR Platform bed frames sold under the Bed Tech brand with model numbers HR33, HR33XL, HR46, HR50, HR60, HR66. The models consist of sizes Twin, Twin xl, Full, Queen, King, Cal King. The steel frames are black and have blue plastic clips. Each product has a 14-digit serial number that begins with HR on an outside leg. The model number is printed on the outside leg with the serial number. Read more.

This recall involves Casa Kids Cabina Bunk Beds manufactured in February 2018, June 2018, May 2019, and December 2019. A label on the lower part of the bottom bunk bed's headboard panel contains the date of manufacture, in a MONTH.YEAR format, e.g., MAY.2019. This recall involves three models of Zinus' metal bunk beds. The OPLBB model is a black twin-over-twin bed whose bed posts have a square cross section. The RPBB model is a blue twin-over-twin bed whose bed posts have a circular cross section. The NTBB model is a gray twin-over-full bed whose bed posts have a circular cross section. The recalled furniture includes the dresser, mirror, king headboard, king footboard, queen headboard, queen footboard, chest, and gent's chest, manufactured between August 1, 2019 and December 18, 2019. Vertical wood paneling is featured on the front or sides of each piece. A label containing the product's SKU number and manufacture date is located on the back of each furniture piece.
