Cherrydale Fundraising Recalls Bracelets Due to Risk of Lead Exposure
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.Name of Product: Decorative Stretchable Aqua Bracelets
Units: About 45,000
Importer: Cherrydale Fundraising, of Allentown, Pa.
Hazard: The bracelets contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recalled bracelets are stretchable, with silver-colored square links and aqua-colored beads. SKU#5384706813 is printed on the packaging.
Sold at: Various dollar stores, liquidators, and schools as part of fundraising, nationwide from September 2003 through April 2007 for between $1 and $12.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bracelets and keep them away from young children. Return them to the store where purchased or contact the firm to receive a full refund.
