April 1, 2009 Lakeshore Learning Materials Recalls Children's Toy Boxes Due to Choking Hazard

The recalled product is a soft, multi-colored box with a different color on each side. “What’s Inside?” is embroidered on the front of the box and symbols of a lion, flower and purple butterfly are stitched on another side. Each feely box contains ten small stuffed pieces. The piece affected by this recall is the pink and purple butterfly. Read more.


July 3, 2008 Bayside Furnishings Recalls Youth Bed Toy Chests Sold at Costco After the Death of a 22-Month-Old Child

This recall involves two styles of Bayside youth beds: the LaJolla Boat Bed and the Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Bed. The preassembled toy chests are designed in the shape of a ship or boat’s “bow” and attached to the beds as a footboard. The LaJolla Boat Bed toy chest has a hardwood top and white wood base with a blue stripe. The Pirates Boat Bed toy chest has a hardwood top, wheel shape and brown wood base with decorative carvings. November 9, 2006 "Cars" Toy Chests Sold at Toys "R" Us Recalled by Delta Enterprise Due to Lead Poisoning Hazard

The wooden toy storage box is decorated with graphics from the animated movie "Cars." It has three removable cloth toy bins. "Delta" and the PO# are printed on the side panel. Only toy boxes with "PO#FJ505192" or "PO#FJ605042" marked on the side panel are included in this recall. Read more.


August 19, 2005 Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc. Recall of Toy Boxes

The recall includes toy boxes with manufacture date codes between November 2002 and July 2004 and the following model numbers and colors: 01520-331 – white, 01520-334 – cherry, 01520-33C – cognac, 01520-33L – oak, and 01520-33N - natural. The manufacture date codes, model numbers, and colors are located on a label underneath the toy boxes. The toy boxes measure 27-inches long by 18-inches wide and 17-inches high. This recall involves all Chesapeake Outdoor Trunks. The model number (6512982) is printed on a sticker under the trunk. The trunks are made of tropical hardwood and measure 40 x 19 x 25" high. Read more.


June 29, 2005 Pottery Barn Kids Recall of Toy Chests

This recall includes the Cameron toy chest in model numbers 4825378 (Honey), 6252852 (Espresso) and 4825386 (White). The product name and model number is located on a label affixed to the back of the toy chest. Inside the lid of the toy chest is a blackboard and an extra storage shelf. The toy chests are made of American hardwood frame with veneer panels and measure 40 x 18 x 20" high. Read more.

The yellow and tan Memory Trunk is about 22-inches long by 14-inches wide by 13.5-inches high and made of fiber board. It is decorated with photos of family activities and various phrases, such as "A Childhood Cherished," "A Place in Time" and "Mementos and Memories." Once Upon A Family intended the trunk for use as a storage box for childhood mementos and does not intend it for use by children. Read more.



November 18, 2003 Schylling Associates Inc. Recall of Jack-In-the-Box-Type Toys

These multicolor tin Jack-In-the-Box-type toys have illustrations of bears in various activities on the sides. Each side features the enlarged single letters of the word "BEAR" and "BEAR" is written on the top of the toy. Other writing on the sides includes, "Bears in a Boat," "Bears Eating Eggs," "Bears in the Air," and Bears Racing Rabbits." When the crank is turned, the song, "Pop Goes the Weasel" plays and a toy teddy bears pops up out of the top of the box. "Schylling" is written on the bottom of the toys. Toys with date code stickers on the bottom are not included in the recall. Read more.
