August 14, 2007 Mattel Recalls "Sarge" Die Cast Toy Cars Due To Violation of Lead Safety Standard

The recall involves die cast “Sarge” 2 ½ inch toy cars. The toy looks like a military jeep and measures about 2 ½ inches long by 1 inch high by 1 inch wide. The recalled toy has the markings “7EA” and “China” on the bottom. The “Sarge” toy car is sold alone or in a package of two, and may have the product number M1253 (for single cars) and K5925 (for cars sold as a set) printed on the packaging. July 24, 2007 Risk of Explosion and Hearing Damage Prompts Recall of Remote Control Airplanes

This recall involves Model 4116 Sky Rangers Park Flyer radio control airplanes, which come with a black battery charger. The airplanes have a wingspan of about 14 inches, a light blue, white and orange polystyrene foam fuselage, and a copper coil on the rudder. Airplanes with a warning sticker on the fuselage near the on/off switch are not included in the recall. Read more.


June 13, 2007 RC2 Corp. Recalls Various Thomas & Friends™ Wooden Railway Toys Due to Lead Poisoning Hazard

The recall involves wooden vehicles, buildings and other train set components for young children listed in the chart below. The front of the packaging has the logo "Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway" on the upper left-hand corner. A manufacturing code may be located on the bottom of the product or inside the battery cover. Toys marked with codes containing "WJ" or "AZ" are not included in this recall. Read more.


March 13, 2007 Toys "R" Us Recalls "Elite Operations" Toy Sets Due to Lead and Laceration Hazards

This recall involves three styles of "Elite Operations" brand toy sets. The military-style play sets contain light and sound vehicles, action figures and accessories. Models included in this recall are: Super Rigs Transport Vehicle (Item # 087286), Command Patrol Center (Item # 920625) and Troop Carrier (Item # 773967). The item numbers are located on the back of the packaging above the barcode. Toy sets sold prior to January 2006 are not included in this recall. No other "Elite Operations" brand toys are affected by this recall. Read more.


February 13, 2007 Battery Packs for Toy Vehicles Recalled by JAKKS Pacific Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves battery packs used with FLY WHEELS XPV toy vehicles. The battery packs were sold with a charger (item number 73904) and with the radio-controlled XPV toy (item number 73906). Item numbers are printed on the product's packaging above the barcode label. The batteries are marked "Fly Wheelz," "XPV," and "JAKKS Pacific," "Lithium-ion Polymer battery (LiPo)" followed by a list of warnings and precautions. December 18, 2006 Remote-Control Helicopter Toys Recalled Due to Burn Hazard

The recalled toy helicopters are remote-controlled lightweight plastic toy helicopters. The helicopter is sold with a control unit, a charger and rechargeable batteries in the body of the toy. The body of the helicopter measures about 13 inches in length and the rotor diameter is about 10 inches. The helicopter is yellow and red with green rotors. The helicopter has a label on the front that reads "Champion HX242 Electric Power Helicopter." Read more.


September 20, 2006 LEGO Recalls Toy Trucks Due to Puncture Hazard to Young Children

LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck is a toy-in-toy product designed for children ages 18 months and up. The toy features a red plastic pick-up/dump truck that measures about 15-inches high and 19-inches wide with four 7-inch black plastic wheels that are packed with a box of 40 LEGO DUPLO bricks in the cargo area. The unit has a row of DUPLO "studs" across the top of the cab, molded yellow headlights and stickers on the front and sides of the unit create the idea of a windshield, windows and doors depicting a LEGO figure in the driver's seat. The LEGO Explore logo is printed on the door stickers. The box of DUPLO bricks is not included in this recall. Read more.


July 5, 2006 Small World Toys Recalls Toy Vehicles for Choking Hazard

IQ Baby Pillow Soft Activity Blocks are a set of 19 foam, cloth-covered blocks of various shapes with a plastic carrying case. Two of the blocks are car-shaped and have four 1-inch diameter plastic wheels with a black and white bull's eye pattern. Some cars have tags or labels that say "IQ Baby." Read more.


March 30, 2006 Toy Cars Recalled for Choking Hazard

The recalled toys are soft, stuffed yellow taxis, black and white police cars and red fire engines, each with four plastic wheels. They measure about 6 inches in length and 5 inches in width. The toys have a silver-colored button on top that makes sounds when pushed. The police car and the fire engine make a siren sound. The taxi makes engine and horn sounds. "Kids Preferred" is printed on an attached fabric tag. Read more.


March 29, 2006 Radio Control Toy Trucks Sold by QVC Recalled for Fire Hazard

The Thunder Spin R.C. Road Rage Stunt Machine is 10 inches by 11 inches and was sold in blue or green. The radio-controlled Stunt Machine comes with one charger, one 9.6 V rechargeable battery pack, and one 9 volt battery. The model number, T23624, is written only on the product's packaging, located above the Universal Product Code. The Stunt Machine comes with two orange flame decals on each side of the vehicle, one of which includes "Stunt Machine" in orange block lettering. A "Thunder Spin" logo can be found on the bottom of the vehicle. Read more.
