Acme Premium Supply Corporation Recalls Siren Whistles
WASHINGTON, DC -- Acme Premium Supply Corporation of St. Louis, MO is voluntarily recalling 340,500 "Siren Whistle" toys because the noisemaker within the whistle may separate from the toy and could present a choking hazard to young children. This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
These plastic 1-3/4" tubular whistles come in solid colors of yellow, white, red, blue, orange, green, pink, and black. "TAIWAN" is embossed on the outside of the whistles.
The Siren Whistles were sold nationwide from January 1989 through March 1990. They were primarily distributed through carnivals where they were frequently given away as prizes or sold individually from concession stands for under 25 cents each.
Neither the CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving this product. This voluntary recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.
Consumers are urged to take these toys away from young children immediately. Consumers with questions about this recall may contact Acme Premium Supply Corporation at 1-800-325-7888, extension 438. For a replacement consumers may return their Siren Whistle(s) to Acme Premium Supply Corporation at 4100 Forest Park, St. Louis, MO 63108.
