December 2, 2014 Felt Bicycles Recalls Cyclocross Bicycles Due to Risk of Injury

This recall includes Felt Cyclocross bicycles 2015 models F65X and F85X. The 2015 F65X bicycle has a satin black aluminum frame with "Felt" printed in white letters and a diagonal wide white stripe next to a thin white stripe on the frame. The 2015 F85X bicycle has a dark red berry colored aluminum frame with diagonal stripes in black, mint green and yellow on the frame. The Felt logo is printed on the bike frame and the model number is printed on the chainstay of the bicycle frame. Read more.


October 29, 2014 Cane Creek Recalls Bicycle Shocks Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves Cane Creek Cycling Components DBINLINE bicycle rear shock absorbers. The shocks are marked with graphics that incorrectly identify the adjustment directions for High Speed Rebound (HSR) damping. HSR on the shock is decreased by turning the adjuster counter-clockwise and increased by turning it clockwise. The incorrect graphics present the opposite; that is, the plus(+) and minus(-) symbols are switched. The consumer can be misled or confused when adjusting HSR on these shocks. The shocks come in black anodized aluminum with the words "INLINE" marked on the air can portion of the shock and are attached to a full-suspension mountain bike frame. Recalled products have a serial number on the underside of the top valve body in the following ranges: AA00002 - AA07304 and SA00077 - SA03926. September 3, 2014 Orbea Recalls Avant Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves all Avant bicycles and carbon framesets sold with hydraulic disk brakes and all Avant bicycles and carbon framesets that are capable of being configured with hydraulic disc brakes. The model numbers are not marked on the bicycles and there is also no color or gender designation. The word Avant is in black or white on the top and head tube of the frameset and the word Orbea is in white on the top and down tube of the frameset. Read more.


July 31, 2014 Dynacraft Recalls Avigo Youth Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Toys "R" Us

This recall involves 20-inch Avigo Turn N' Burn youth bicycles with model number 8107-62. The model number and date of manufacture, "08202013," are printed on a data label on the frame's seat tube. The bicycles have a silver frame, blue handlebars and black front fork with blue accents, hand brakes and a kickstand. The serial number can be found etched on the frame on the underside of the bottom bracket shell. Serial numbers included in the recall have: letters "DJFH" followed by a six-digit number between 026588 and 027104, and between 089533 through 090562; or the letters "DJFI" followed by a six-digit number between 015107 and 015552, and between 100093 and 101193. July 23, 2014 East Coast Cycle Supply Recalls Trayl TRN Mountain Bikes Due to Crash Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Sports Authority (Recall Alert)

This recall involves all Trayl TRN 29-inch hardtail mountain bikes. The bike has a black and green frame with a white front fork. The word Trayl is in white on the underside of the down tube and in green on the top side of the down tube. The Trayl logo appears as the "Y" in the word. Read more.


July 17, 2014 Cycling Sports Group Recalls GT Brand Mountain Bicycles Due to Crash, Injury Hazards

This recall involves all 2014 GT Fury Expert and 2014 GT Fury Team downhill mountain bicycles. The recalled Fury Expert model is blue with red and white accents. The recalled Fury Team model is black with lime green and blue accents. The bicycles have front and rear disc brakes, rear shock absorbers and front suspension forks. "Fury" is printed on the top tube and the bottom of the chainstay, the GT logo is on the down tube and the top of the chainstay. The model names are printed in small letters on the top tube of the bicycles just above the word Fury. Read more.


June 25, 2014 Scott, Trek Recall Bicycles with SR Suntour Front Forks Due to Crash Hazard

This recall involves SR Suntour front forks on 13 models of Scott and 11 models of Trek 2011, 2012 and 2013 bicycles. Recalled Scott bicycles have 700c wheels, disc brakes and one of the following Suntour front fork models: NEX or NCX. Bicycle model names and numbers are on the main frame of each bicycle in a location that varies by model. The model year can be identified by the color scheme of the bicycle frame. The fork's model name is printed on the outer sides of the fork. Recalled Trek bicycles have disc brakes and one of the following Suntour front fork models: NEX, NRX (with IS mounts), XCM (on bicycles with 29-inch wheels) or XCT (on bicycles with 29-inch wheels). Bicycle model names and numbers are on the top tube near the seat tube or near the head tube. Bicycles with a serial number ending in F, G or H should be taken to the dealer for inspection. The serial number is on the frame of the bicycle under the bottom bracket. The fork's model name is printed on the outer sides of the fork. Read more.


June 24, 2014 Stile Products Recalls Tern Folding Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard; Frames Can Crack

The recall involves Link Uno, Link D7i, Link D8, Link P9, Link P7i, and Link P24h models of Tern brand adult folding bikes. These six models were sold in black/blue, black/green, black/gray, black/red dark gray/light gray, gray/orange and white/pink color combinations. "Tern" is printed on the front end of the top tube and on other portions of the frame. The model name is printed on the middle of the top tube. Recalled bicycles have a 10-character alphanumeric serial number that begin with either AI1133 through AI1137 or AI1149 through AI1213 stamped on the bottom bracket shell of the bike. An alphanumeric service tag number is located on the front of the seat tube and this number can be used to determine if the bicycle is affected by going to the firm's website. Read more.


June 10, 2014 SCOTT Recalls Speedster Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves model year 2014 SCOTT men's and women's road bicycles, models Speedster 30, Speedster 40, Contessa Speedster 25 and Contessa Speedster 35. The bikes have the brand name "SCOTT" and the model name "Speedster" on the frame. They were sold in black and white with blue, green, purple or teal accents. The following serial number ranges are included in the recall: AS30500001-AS30504930, AS30700001-AS30704651, AS30900001-AS30903278, AS31100001-AS31103744 and AS40101604-AS40105463. The serial number is printed on a white sticker and embossed on the underside of the bicycle frame near the pedals. Read more.


May 15, 2014 BMC Recalls Three Models of Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard; Bicycle Forks Can Break

The recall involves certain models of Alpenchallenge, Urbanchallenge and Masschallenge bicycles equipped with full carbon Aprebic bike forks model ACC-A704DN50B. The fork model number is printed behind the top arch. Specific bicycle models included in the recall are Alpenchallenge AC01 105 Tiagra, Alpenchallenge AC01 Rival, Masschallenge MC01 Team and the Urbanchallenge UC01 Alfine 11. Both the Alpenchallenge and Urbanchallenge bicycles include the 2012 and 2013 model years. The Masschallenge bicycle includes model year 2012. The model year is printed on the top tube of the bike. The bicycles come in black and yellow, or black and red color combinations. Read more.
