November 23, 2021 Impex Fitness Recalls Dumbbell Handles Due to Impact Injury Hazard

This recall involves the OBB-20 Olympic Dumbbell handles that can be used with any olympic-size weight plates in any configuration and allows users to perform various dumbbell exercises. The Olympic Dumbbell handles are chrome in color and finish, and each dumbbell handle comes with two locking collars in black. Read more.


February 11, 2021 Rep Fitness Recalls Strap Safety Brackets Due to Injury Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves PR-4000 (SKU No. PRA-4120) and PR-5000 (SKU No. PRA-5122) Strap Safety brackets. The SKU numbers can be found on the product packaging. Strap Safeties are designed to prevent damage to barbells due to missed lifts during weightlifting. The Strap Safety brackets are black and attach to the weight lifting posts of a squat stand to ensure the strap safeties stay in place. The straps on the Strap Safety products are secured to the brackets with heavy duty bolts. Consumers should retain the strap safeties and heavy-duty bolts. Only the brackets are being recalled. February 10, 2021 Nautilus Recalls Bowflex SelectTech Barbells Due to Impact Injury Hazard

This recall involves the Bowflex SelectTech 2080 Barbell with Curl Bar. The product consists of two metal bars, one straight and one curled, which are used one at a time. The bar is inserted into a base, and the user selects the number of weight plates needed to reach the desired weight by turning an adjustment knob. The barbells are black with a red Bowflex logo on the weight selector dial. The storage tray is marked with the name "Bowflex" and the Bowflex logo in the center. Read more.


September 3, 2020 Decathlon USA Recalls Swiss Balls Due to Injury Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves Decathlon’s Domyos swiss balls, also referred to as pilates balls or gymnastics gymballs, with model numbers 8529175, 8529176 and 8529177. The recalled balls are used for exercising and were sold in blue, bordeaux, and gray colors. They measure 21.65 inches to 29.53 inches in diameter and weigh between 10.6 and 10.9 ounces. Domyos, the diameter and the weight are printed near the base of the ball. Read more.


October 4, 2019 Fit For Life Recalls SPRI Ultra Heavy Resistance Bands Due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves SPRI ultra heavy resistance tubes or bands used for exercising. They are black with nylon webbing and have SPRI printed on the handles in white. Some units have KN08/18, KN09/18 or KN10/18 printed on the handle. Model number 02-71669 is printed on the bottom of the packaging. Read more.


September 27, 2018 Life Fitness Recalls PowerMill Climber Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Life Fitness PowerMill climbers models PMA, PFB, PMD, PFD, PMH, and PFH. The model letters appear at the front of the serial number on the bottom right of the unit, on the inside of the "step-up" support. The climbers were manufactured and distributed from 2014 through 2018. Life Fitness is printed on the side panels of the machines. The climber machines have a moving mechanical staircase (similar to an escalator) with rotating steps between two handrails. Read more.


September 25, 2018 Provata Health Recalls Promotional Activity Trackers Due to Burn Hazard

This recall involves the Provata activity fitness tracker. The wristbands were given to consumers as a promotional giveaway and feature a digital display, a charging terminal, a heart rate and step detector with Bluetooth technology. They were distributed in three colors: black, blue or mint green. The packaging displays the word "Provata" and "Activity Tracker [color]" printed on the front cover. Read more.


August 30, 2018 Core Health & Fitness Recalls Stairmaster Stepmill Exercise Equipment Due to Fall Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves StairMaster branded 8G Gauntlet Stepmill machines with model numbers 9-5250 & 9-5270. The recalled machines were sold in red, black and red/yellow. The recalled machines consist of a revolving staircase and a backlit LCD console. The model number is printed on the base of the unit. The date code is in the YYWW format (1816 means year 2018, week 16). The date code is the section of the serial number at digits 8 - 11 (see photo). The date code range for SKU 9-5250 is from 1734 to 1823. The date code range for SKU 9-5270 is from 1813 to 1816. Stairmaster is printed on both sides of the unit and on the shrouds. Read more.


August 29, 2018 Cybex Recalls Weight-Lifting Equipment Due to Serious Injury Hazards

This recall involves the Cybex Smith Press model 5340, manufactured and distributed from 1989 through 1993, and model 5341, manufactured and distributed from 1993 through 2009. The models have a weight bar seated between two parallel vertical tracks on latch pins. The weight bar can be moved up and down to perform upper body and lower body exercises. The equipment is used primarily in fitness facilities. The weight bar was sold with the Smith Press, and the weights were sold separately. The model number is printed on the base of the frame of the Smith Press equipment. Read more.


July 31, 2018 Additional Incidents Prompt Johnson Health Tech to Reannounce Recall of Matrix Fitness Ascent Trainers and Ellipticals Due to Fire Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves previously recalled Matrix Fitness Ascent trainers® and Elliptical trainers installed from November 2011 through December 2012. All Ascent trainers and ellipticals have a swing-arm handle design, with pedals that rotate in an elliptical path. Units also have stationary handlebars. The Ascent Trainers® are similar to the elliptical machines, but include an incline function. Users operate the machines in a standing position. The ellipticals are black and silver-colored. The Ascent trainers are also black and silver-colored with an orange accent color on the machine's body and foot pedals. "Matrix" is printed on the machines body and handlebars. When assembled, the machines are about 70" high x 29" wide and 68" long. The machines involved in this recall have a decal at the center/bottom of the units with model numbers beginning with A-3x, A-5x/7x, or E-3x/5x/7x. This recall includes units with serial numbers beginning with EP304, EP306, or EP308, and with date codes of 1208 (YYMM) or prior. Read more.
