Recalls: Exercise Equipment

This recall involves StairMaster branded 8G Gauntlet Stepmill machines with model numbers 9-5250 & 9-5270. The recalled machines were sold in red, black and red/yellow. The recalled machines consist of a revolving staircase and a backlit LCD console. The model number is printed on the base of the unit. The date code is in the YYWW format (1816 means year 2018, week 16). The date code is the section of the serial number at digits 8 - 11 (see photo). The date code range for SKU 9-5250 is from 1734 to 1823. The date code range for SKU 9-5270 is from 1813 to 1816. Stairmaster is printed on both sides of the unit and on the shrouds. Read more.

This recall involves the Cybex Smith Press model 5340, manufactured and distributed from 1989 through 1993, and model 5341, manufactured and distributed from 1993 through 2009. The models have a weight bar seated between two parallel vertical tracks on latch pins. The weight bar can be moved up and down to perform upper body and lower body exercises. The equipment is used primarily in fitness facilities. The weight bar was sold with the Smith Press, and the weights were sold separately. This recall involves previously recalled Matrix Fitness Ascent trainers® and Elliptical trainers installed from November 2011 through December 2012. All Ascent trainers and ellipticals have a swing-arm handle design, with pedals that rotate in an elliptical path. Units also have stationary handlebars. The Ascent Trainers® are similar to the elliptical machines, but include an incline function. Users operate the machines in a standing position. The ellipticals are black and silver-colored. The Ascent trainers are also black and silver-colored with an orange accent color on the machine's body and foot pedals. "Matrix" is printed on the machines body and handlebars. When assembled, the machines are about 70" high x 29" wide and 68" long. The machines involved in this recall have a decal at the center/bottom of the units with model numbers beginning with A-3x, A-5x/7x, or E-3x/5x/7x. This recall includes units with serial numbers beginning with EP304, EP306, or EP308, and with date codes of 1208 (YYMM) or prior. Read more.

This recall involves the Octane Fitness XT- One elliptical cross trainer. "Octane Fitness" is printed on the rear of the keypad and the side of the cross trainer. The cross trainers measure 33 inches by 99 inches. These standing elliptical cross trainers were sold in various shades of gray, green and orange. The machines have steel tubing with plastic shrouds and a 10 inch glass capacitive touch screen or a large LED display with integrated capacitive buttons. Only cross trainers with model numbers XT5700 are included in the recall. The model name XTOne is printed on the incline support column. Read more.

This recall involves Fitness Gear resistance tubes used as upper and lower body workout equipment. The latex tubes were sold in blue, gray, green, orange, purple and red with gray handles. The tubes range in resistance from 5 pounds to 30 pounds and were sold individually and in kits of three, four or five resistance tubes. The resistance level is marked on the black strap between the handle and the tube. The recalled model numbers are: STA00560, STA00561, STA00562, STA00563, STA00564, STA00565, STA00566, STA00567, and STA00568. Read more.

This recall involves five styles of Inspiration® Cable Cross Over and Dual Adjustable Pulley machines installed primarily in fitness centers and gyms. The units are stainless steel adjustable pulleys with single hand adjustment designs and high-low cable positioning components. "Inspiration" is printed on each Dual Adjustable Pulley model, and "Star Trac" or "Nautilus" is printed on the Cable Cross Over models. Read more.

The frame serial numbers are located on the bottom front of the base near the power switch. The ClimbMills are black and gray with Matrix printed on the side of the machine. These four-step exercise machines are used in commercial fitness facilities such as health clubs, hotels, apartment complexes, rehabilitation centers, schools, and municipal facilities. Read more.

This recall involves the Olympic Decline free weight bench with model numbers 16060, 16061, 16062 and 16063. The bench consists of a steel frame with an upholstered pad on which the user rests his/her back, and a rack on which the user can engage a 7-foot bar with its weight plates when the user completes the exercise routine. On all of these models the upholstered pad is configured at a 15 degree angle so that, in use, the user's back and shoulders are lower than the user's thighs and knees. A decal bearing the unit's model and serial number is affixed to the tube near where the user's feet are placed when using the unit. The recalled benches have serial numbers C1208 through K0915, which represent manufacture dates of December 2008 through September 2015. "Cybex" is printed on the benches. Read more.

This recall involves the Rogue Fitness MobilityWOD Door Anchor. The anchor is used to anchor elastic bands for use in stretching and mobility exercises. The door anchor has a red plastic tab anchor with "ROGUE" embossed on one side attached to a black nylon strap with a metal ring and carabiner on the other end. The anchor measures about 8 inches long by 1.5 inches wide. Read more.

This recall involves five models of the Matrix Fitness series strength training machines with chrome frames, stacked weights, overhead pulleys, and some with black or blue vinyl seats and thigh supports. Models include VY-6021 Lat Pulldown, VY-6042 Bicep/Triceps Press, VY-6046 Lat Pulldown/Low Row, VY-6099 Total Body Trainer, and the J7021 Special Order Lat Pull. "Matrix" and the model number are printed on a white sticker at the base of the machines.
