This recall involves all 2016 and 2017 Smith Quantum ski and snowboard helmets. They were sold in in sizes S, M, L and XL in matte black/charcoal, matte white/charcoal, matte Fire (red) /charcoal, matte Klein Blue (blue), matte olive green, matte Reactor (bright green) /black and matte Thunder gray (gray) color combinations. Smith Quantum is printed on a label inside the helmet along with the manufacturing dates. Read more.


May 3, 2016 Cascade Designs Recalls Avalanche Rescue Probes Due to Risk of Suffocation

This recall involves Mountain Safety Research Striker™ 320, Striker™ 240 avalanche rescue probes. The probe is divided into six or eight sections of 18-inch aluminum shafts that lock into place to create a single 94-inch or 126-inch probe, depending on the model. The probe is used by searchers to help identify something or someone buried by snow after an avalanche. "Striker 320" is printed on the red and gray probe and "Striker 240" is printed on the yellow and gray probe. "MSR" is printed on the shaft. Read more.


February 18, 2016 Snowboard Boots with Boa Secondary Reels Recalled by Boa Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves snowboard boots with the M3v2 secondary reel dials, which are used to adjust the fit at the forefoot and tongue of the boots. This recall involves all sizes and colors of the following snowboard boot brand models containing the M3v2 reel: • 32 (Binary) • Burton (Photon, Concord, Felix) • DC (Control) • DeeLuxe (Spark Summit, Vicious) • Flow (Helios Focus) • Head (Six Boa Focus) • K2 (Darko) • Ride (Fuze, Lasso, Triad, Hera, Norris) • Rome (Inferno, Memphis) • Salomon (Dialogue Focus) • Scarpa (EVO F1) If the M3v2 reel has an adhesive sticker dot on the front, then the recalled dial has already been replaced and nothing further needs to be done. February 4, 2016 Head USA Recalls Ski and Snowboard Helmets Due to Head Injury Hazard

This recall involves six models of HEAD ski and snowboard helmets: Agent, Alia, Andor, Arise, Arosa and Avril. They were sold in sizes M/L and XL/XXL in black, blue, green white and yellow, with straps in a variety of colors. HEAD, the model name, size and "Production Code: Dec. 2014" are printed on stickers that can be found by lifting the lining above the right earpiece. Read more.


July 9, 2015 JetForce Avalanche Airbag Packs Recalled by Black Diamond Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves all first generation JetForce Black Diamond, Pieps and POC model airbag packs manufactured by Black Diamond between October 2, 2014 and March 3, 2015. The manufacture date code ranging from 14275 to 15077 can be found inside the front pocket label. The date codes are listed in a YYDDD format. Date codes on some products are truncated in a YDDD format (ex.4275). The JetForce Technology logo is on the left shoulder strap, and an instruction label is on the inside flap of the back panel. June 2, 2015 ORTOVOX Recalls Avalanche Transceiver Due to Loss of Emergency Communications Capability

The ORTOVOX S1+ transceiver is used as a beacon to locate an individual in the event of avalanche burial. The flip-case design transceiver is black with green accent stripes on the top sides. ORTOVOX and S1+ are printed on the top of the device. In the open/receive position the top half of the transceiver displays a blue screen with green border that displays an image and distance reading of the buried individual. The transceivers measure about 5 inches long by 3 inches wide by 1 inch thick in the closed/transmit position. All transceivers manufactured from 2010 through 2014 are included in the recall. The manufacture date is printed inside the battery door on the back of the transceiver with a roman numeral representing the quarter of the year and a two digit number referring to the year. April 21, 2015 Gorsuch Recalls ERTLRENZ Ski Boot Heat Liners Due to Fire Hazard

The ERTLRENZ Trim Heat and Foam Heat are handmade, customized, black inner heat liners for ski boots. Every product is accompanied by a charger and a remote control for the heating system. March 11, 2015 SCARPA North America Recalls Ski Boots with Tronic System Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves the men's and women's SCARPA F1 EVO ski boots with the Tronic system component. The Tronic system locks the boot into the ski binding. The boots were sold in royal blue for men and aqua blue for women with "SCARPA" written in white letters on the lower outer side of the boot. The model name "F1 EVO" is printed on the upper right outside ankle cuff of the boots. Read more.


March 3, 2015 Flow Sports Inc. Recalls Snowboard Bindings Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves Flow 2014 Flite-series snowboard bindings with model names Flite, Haylo, Micron Youth, Flite LTD and Flite MTN. The bindings have a snaplock lever on the rear, a cable adjustment dial on the side of the baseplate, a matte texture finish on the baseplate and a glossy "Flow" and Flow's logo on the hiback. They are black; black and white; black, white and blue; or black, white, blue and yellow. "Flow" is printed on the side of the bindings. Read more.


November 18, 2014 Black Diamond Equipment Recalls Whippet Ski Poles Due to Risk of Injury

This recall includes Black Diamond Whippet and Whippet Carbon ski poles manufactured May 2013 through January 2014. The Whippet is gray with two telescoping shafts and the Carbon Whippet is black with three telescoping shafts. The upper shaft of both models is made of aluminum and has a black and orange rubber handgrip with a built-in, stainless steel, serrated pick and a black nylon wrist strap with a an orange Black Diamond logo. "Black Diamond" and the Black Diamond logo are on the upper shaft of both models. The Whippet has an aluminum lower shaft with an orange and silver locking mechanism. "Whippet" and the logo are on the lower shaft. The middle and lower shafts of the Carbon Whippet are made of carbon fiber and have orange and silver locking mechanisms. "Carbon Whippet" and the logo are on the lower shaft. Both models have a 4-inch plastic powder basket on the lower shaft near the tip and graduation marks on the shafts to show the various lengths of the pole in centimeters. The Whippet can be extended from 99 centimeters (39 inches) to 142 centimeters (56 inches) long. The Carbon Whippet can be extended from 67.9 centimeters (26.75 inches) to 142 centimeters (56 inches) long. Recalled poles have picks with polished surfaces, a notch in the top of the pick and a date code between 13121 and 14015 etched on the pole. The date code can be found by removing the locking mechanism on the middle shaft of the Carbon Whippet and the lower shaft of the Whippet. Read more.
