October 14, 2009 SI Tech Recalls Diving Suit Hoses Due to Drowning Hazard; One Death Reported

This recall involves a dry suit inflation hose that connects a diver’s dry suit to the air supply and allows for the pumping of air into the suit to set up a positive pressure arrangement to help keep it watertight. The hose contains an air flow restricting insert that may be either black, blue or green in color. The batch code is stamped on the threaded metal end of the hose. October 14, 2009 Electra Bicycle Company Expands Recall of Bicycles with Front Trays or Baskets; Trays and Baskets Can Come Loose and Pose Fall Hazard to Riders

This recall involves the 2009 Delivery 3i, Delivery 8D, Holiday 3i, Holiday 8i and Surf 3i bicycles with front-mounted trays or baskets. The trays have an alloy frame with wooden slats. The baskets are wicker with a removable tote bag. The trays were sold as original equipment on the bicycles and as aftermarket items. The baskets were sold only as aftermarket items. Read more.

October 1, 2009 Diving Equipment Recalled by Halcyon Manufacturing Due to Drowning Hazard

This recall involves Halcyon diving equipment including the Halcyon Explorer, Eclipse, CCR35, Evolve and Pioneer Buoyancy Compensator Devices (BCDs) and Halcyon Surface Marker Buoys (SMBs), Lift Bags, Diver Alert Markers (DAMs) Surf Shuttle and Diver Lift Raft Inflatable Devices. “Halcyon” is printed on the diving equipment. September 23, 2009 Grand Trunk Recalls Parachute Hammocks Due to Fall Hazard

The recalled hammocks were sold in single and double versions and packaged in a nylon sack. The Grand Trunk logo is printed on the sack. The following models and colors are included in the recall: SH-01 (Single Olive/Khaki), SH-02 (Single Blue/Navy Blue), SH-06 (Single Royal/Khaki), DH-01 (Double Olive/Khaki), DH-02 (Double Lt. September 8, 2009 Bicycle Chains and Chain Connector Links Recalled by SRAM Due to Fall Hazard

The recall involves SRAM PowerLock connector links, which are sold individually, on 10-speed bicycle chains and as original equipment on some bicycles. The recalled PowerLock connector links are identified by a date code of M or N, which is located on the side of the PowerLock connector link. 10-speed SRAM chains that were equipped with recalled PowerLock connector links include the following chain model numbers: PC-1030, PC-1050, PC-1070, PC-1090 and PC-1090R. The recalled chains were also installed on some Guru, Surly, Salsa, BMC, Serotta, Seven, and Ridley brand complete bicycles. The individual PowerLock connectors and bike chains with these connectors were sold from January 2009 through August 2009; bicycles with affected chains were sold from April 2009 through August 2009. August 19, 2009 Bicycles Recalled by Nirve Sports; Stem Failure Poses Fall Hazard

This recall involves Cannibal “Chopper” model bicycles with graphic designs by artist Corey Miller. The bicycles have a black matte finish. The affected bicycles have a serial number within the following range: L8E0300001 – L8E1001050. Serial numbers are located on the bottom of the bicycle between the pedals. Read more.
