June 26, 2014 Wolf Steel Recalls Napoleon Propane Gas Fireplaces Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves the GD3200-P flush glass front and GD3200B-P with a bay window, propane gas fireplaces. The fireplaces are black and approximately 33 inches tall and 31.25 inches wide with gold accent designs on the top and bottom of the outside of the product. The model number GD3200-P and GD3200B-P can be found in the center of the rating label. The rating label is located on the base of the fireplace behind the lower louvered access door. Read more.


March 13, 2013 Bluworld/Nu-Flame Recalls Wall Mounted Fireplaces Due to Fire and Burn Hazard

The wall mounted fireplaces have a 2 or 3.4 liter capacity burner fuel cup with an ethanol open flame behind a tempered glass shield with a metal curved base and a black metal backboard. Both wall mounted fireplaces measure about 20-inches in height. The Vivo NF-W4VIO model measures about 39-inches in width and the Vivido NF-W3VIO model fireplace measures 26-inches in width. The model number is printed on the product packaging.

November 8, 2012 Fireplaces and Inserts Recalled by Monessen Hearth Systems Due to Risk of Fire

This recall involves electronically controlled Majestic, Monessen and Vermont Castings direct-vent and B-vent gas fireplaces and inserts. Models included in the recall have serial numbers range from 11-X-027322 to 11-X-031501; 12-X-000275 to 12-X-015206, 11-P-032597 to 11-P-059389; and 12-P-000202 to 12-P-037583. The first two digits represent the year of manufacture, the letter represents the facility and the last six digits are sequential numbers, randomly selected. The serial number is printed on a rating plate, affixed to a cable inside the lower or side control door. Read more.


March 8, 2011 Sunjoy Industries Recalls Outdoor Wood Burning Fireplaces Sold Exclusively at Lowe's Stores Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves "Garden Treasures Living" steel outdoor fireplaces with a bronze finish chimney and slate colored accents. The wood burning fireplace is approximately 24 inches deep by 35 inches wide and 57 inches tall, has two glass doors and a tile back inside. Item number 0027705 and model number L-OF082PST-3 are printed on the front page of the product's instruction manual. No other "Garden Treasures Living" brand outdoor fireplaces are included in this recall. Read more.


March 23, 2010 Simpson Dura-Vent Recalls Fireplace Dampers Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hazard

This recall involves DuraTech Anchor Plates with Dampers and DuraChimney II Anchor Plates with Dampers. The products are intended for use as a starter section for chimneys in fireplace applications. The dampers allow the chimney to be closed when the fireplace is not in use. Each damper is a short sheet metal vent pipe fitted with a circular damper plate within the vent pipe, and attached to a square anchor plate. The damper plate rotates around an axis rod to control the flow of air through the vent pipe. The damper plates have a weight attached to one side, and a chain attached to the other side. When installed in a fireplace application, the square anchor plate is generally not visible. Read more.
