March 12, 2008 Ensto Control Oy Recalls Toggle and Rotary Switches Due to Electric Shock Hazards

The recalled toggle and rotary switches are manual motor controller switches or disconnect switches. The switches are typically used with HVAC units, electric distribution and control panels and industrial uses. Primarily the switches are used commercially, however they may also be found in residential applications. The switches were sold under the brand name Ensto Control Oy with a four digit manufacturing week date code stamped on the bottom of each switch. The code indicates the week and year of manufacture. Product codes ranging from 0107 through 5007 are included in the recall. The model numbers are located on labels attached on the upper part of the plastic switch housing. January 9, 2008 Intermatic Recalls Digital Timers Due to Electrical Shock Hazard

This recall involves the Intermatic DT27 digital self-adjusting timer with a date code of “04B.” This product is a lamp and appliance timer and is packaged as either the “DT27C Heavy Duty Digital Timer” or the “DT27CL Time All® Digital Lamp and Appliance Self-Adjusting Timer.” The timer is white with a rounded top, and measures 3 7/8” tall by 2 3/4” wide by 1 5/8” deep. The brand name “Intermatic” is molded on the front of the timer, and the model number (“DT27”) and date code (“04B”) are printed on the back of the timer. Read more.


December 27, 2007 North American Breaker Co. Recalls Counterfeit Circuit Breakers Due to Fire Hazard

The counterfeit circuit breakers are black and are labeled as Square D QO-series models 110, 115, 120, 130, 210, 215, 220, 225, 230, 235, 240, 250, 260, 280, 1515, 1520, 2020, 2125, 315, 340, 350, 360, and 3100. Actual Square D circuit breakers have (a) the amp rating written on the handle in white paint on the front of the breaker; (b) the Square D insignia molded onto the breaker side, and; (c) a yellow chromate mounting clip with half of the top of the clip visible. If your breaker, labeled as Square D, does not match this description, it could be counterfeit. Read more.


November 8, 2007 Yamaha Recalls AC Power Adaptors Due to Electric Shock Hazard

This recall involves the Yamaha PA-3C power adaptor with a date code of 0624. The adaptor is used with Yamaha keyboards and digital drum sets. The model number is written in white print on the front of the plug of the adaptor and the date code is etched into the plastic at the bottom of the plug panel. October 30, 2007 Connecticut Electric Recalls Counterfeit Square D Circuit Breakers Due To Fire Hazard

The counterfeit circuit breakers are black and are marked as Square D products. Connecticut Electric has identified the following breakers as possibly being counterfeit: QO115, QO120, QO140, QO2125, QO215, QO220, QO230, QO240, QO250, QO260, QO1515, QO2020, QO3100, QO320, QO330, QO340, QO360, QOB120, QOB130, QOB220, QOB230, QOB250, QOB330, and QOB360. June 19, 2007 Cummins Power Generation Inc. Recalls Stationary Natural Gas and Propane Fueled Generators Due to Fire Hazard

The recall involves both commercial and residential model Cummins Power Generation gaseous-fueled stationary generator sets (fueled by propane or natural gas). They have the following model numbers listed on the generator nameplate which is located at the front base of the unit: commercial models GGDB, GGMA/B/C, and GNAA/B/C, and residential models RS15000, RS20000, and RS30000. These units also have serial number A050734102 through L068998479 and "Cummins Power Generation" listed on the generator nameplate. Read more.


April 18, 2007 Lamson & Sessions Recalls Floor Electrical Outlets Due to Shock or Electrocution Hazards

The drop-in floor boxes are used to provide an extra electrical outlet in the floor. They were sold under the Carlon® brand name and have a brass finish cover approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter. "Carlon" is stamped into the plastic above the receptacle and the model number is located to the left of the receptacle. Model numbers E971FBDI and E971FBDIB are included in this recall. Read more.


January 4, 2007 DEWALT Recalls Portable Generators Due to Electric Shock Hazard

The recall involves DEWALT DG2900 2900 watt gasoline-powered generators with date codes 200150 through 200635. The generators are black and yellow. "DEWALT" and "DG2900" are printed on the generator. The date code is stamped on the right side of the unit on the black plastic covering the rear of the control panel. Units with an "R" stamped on the name plate are not affected by this recall. December 15, 2006 Square D Recalls Safety Switches Due to Shock or Electrocution Hazard

The recall includes General Duty 30 and 60 ampere, 240 volt, 1 phase and 3 phase NEMA 3R safety switches. The switches are typically used to control the flow of electricity to outdoor motorized units that are hardwired to a household or business' electrical system such as outdoor air conditioning and heating (HVAC) equipment. The switches contain "ON" and "OFF" positions. The "OFF" position is designed to cut the flow of electricity to an outdoor motorized unit to protect the person who is servicing the unit. The recalled switches have the following date codes and catalog number printed on bottom of the wiring label inside the front cover or on bottom of the package label. Read more.
