Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of Product: Happy Giddy Gardening Tools and Children’s Sunny Patch Chairs Units: About 350,000 Importer: Target, of Minneapolis, Minn. Manufacturer: Starite International Ltd., of Taiwan Hazard: The surface paint on the recalled gardening tools and chairs contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recall includes the Happy Giddy Gardening Tools and the Sunny Patch Children’s Chairs. Gardening tools: caterpillar trowel with an orange and multi-colored handle; kitty cat broom with pink flowers and green handle; pink and green cultivator with a solid green tool portion and pink flowers on the handle; orange and green wood handle hoe and rake with orange flowers; pink and green shovel and trowel with pink flowers; green, orange and light blue snail push broom; multi-colored trowel, hoe, rake with orange on the tool body; multi-colored shovel with solid red on the shovel and eyes on the top of the handle; red and blue owl shaped broom with bristles painted blue, with yellow and black large eyes on the face. Children’s Chairs: multi-colored children’s Sunny Patch chairs with a giraffe, monkey, and elephant on the back. The cloth seat and back are striped in orange, yellow, green and blue. The chameleon, butterfly and lady bug chair are not included in the recall. Sold at: Target stores nationwide from August 2006 through August 2007 for between $3 and $10. August 28, 2007 Children's Watering Cans Sold Exclusively at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores Recalled Due to Violation of Lead in Paint Ban

The recalled Robbie Ducky™ Kids Watering Can is yellow with an orange beak and is about 10 inches high by 6 inches wide. "Robbie Ducky™ Garden Collection Duck Watering Can" is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the watering can. Read more.


July 24, 2007 Additional Incidents Prompt Log Splitter Recall Expansion by Brave Products; Could Pose Serious Injury Risk

The log splitters are made of steel and painted orange and black, or blue and black. They have trailer hitches and rubber tires. Each log splitter has a decal on the side that reads "Brave Products, Inc." or "Iron & Oak" and "__ ton" (either 15, 22, 26, or 34). July 20, 2007 Black & Decker Recalls Trimmers/Edgers Due to Laceration Hazard from Projectiles

The Black & Decker GH1000 Grasshog XP String Trimmers/Edgers are electric-powered. Trimmer/edgers with date codes 200546 through 200645 (representing manufacture dates of November 14, 2005 through November 6, 2006) are included in this recall. The date code is located on the underside of the trimmer/edger's handle. Only trimmers with black spools caps are included in the recall. Those with orange spool caps are not included in the recall. June 18, 2007 Briggs & Stratton Snow Thrower Engines Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The recall includes snow equipment with Briggs & Stratton OHV engines that have model numbers beginning with 12, 15, 20, or 21, and a date of manufacture (DOM) code between 000601xx and 070301xx. The engines were installed on the following brand snow throwers: Ariens, Canadiana, Craftsman, Frontier Equipment, Husqvarna, Poulan Pro, Simplicity and Snapper. The engine model number and DOM information are located on the cylinder shield or rocker cover. Call for more information about determining if your snow thrower engine is included in the recall. November 9, 2006 Enesco Group Inc. Recalls Heartwood Creek® Turtle Sprinklers for Laceration Hazard

This recall involves the Heartwood Creek® Turtle Sprinkler. The lawn sprinkler is made of resin with a decorative turtle shell and stands about 5 1/2-inches tall and 10-inches long. The bottom of the sprinkler is printed with the item number 4005179 and the Heartwood Creek logo. Read more.


October 5, 2006 MTD Snow Throwers Recalled - Plastic Wheel Rims Can Burst and Injure Users

The recalled two-stage compact snow thrower is used for snow removal. The snow thrower has two wheels and comes in red, green, gray or black. Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines or Craftsman is printed on the snow thrower's housing. The model number is located on the snow thrower's rear frame.
