August 4, 2009 Increasing Injuries Prompt Black & Decker to Reannounce Recall of Trimmers/Edgers Due to Laceration and Burn Hazards

The Black & Decker GH1000 Grasshog XP String Trimmers/Edgers are electric-powered. Trimmer/edgers with date codes 200546 through 200645 (representing manufacture dates of November 14, 2005 through November 6, 2006) are included in this recall. The date code is located on the underside of the trimmer/edger’s handle. Only trimmers with black spool caps are included in the recall. Those with orange spool caps are not included in the recall. July 8, 2009 Husqvarna Recalls Lawn Tractors; Parking Brake Failure Can Cause Loss of Control

April 1, 2009 Brave Products Reannounces Recall of Log Splitters; Additional Incidents Prompt Urgent Warning of Amputation Hazard

The log splitters are made of steel and painted orange and black, or blue and black. They have trailer hitches and rubber tires. Each log splitter has a decal on the side that reads “Brave Products, Inc.” or “Iron & Oak” and “__ ton” (either 15, 22, 26, or 34). August 19, 2008 Flame Weeders Recalled by Gardener's Supply Co. Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The recalled flame weeders are used to burn weeds. The weeders have a long silver colored metal tube with a blue plastic handle which is attached by a two-piece brass valve to a 1 lb. propane tank. Read more.


July 17, 2008 Log Splitter Engines Recalled By American Honda Motor Co. Due to Fire Hazard

The recall involves Honda engines (model type GCV160LA N1A) used in Split Master by SpeeCo and Huskee brand log splitters. Only engine serial numbers between 5547012 and 6880908 are included in the recall. The serial number is located below the upper shroud near the oil dip-stick. The following models of log splitters are affected by the recall and are either silver/black or red/black colored. Read more.


June 4, 2008 QVC Recalls Tomato Planters Due to Collapse Hazard

The Topsy-Turvy Deluxe Tomato Planter with Stand (Item Numbers M16702 and M17499) is an upright planter used for growing tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers. The planter consists of a 16” X 15” bag which holds up to 30 pounds of soil and is attached to the top of a 6-foot tall adjustable pole.
