Recalls: Portable Generators

This recall involves model B4363GS fuel tank replacement caps made by Kelch/Bemis for Briggs & Stratton portable generators that use a plastic non-vented fuel tank. The fuel tank replacement caps are black and are missing the vent within the clear lens covering the fuel gauge. The fuel caps can be identified by visually inspecting the clear lens for a vent hole towards the bottom of the gauge. The caps are about 2.5 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches in width. Two 5.5 inch metal rods extend from the bottom of the caps to support a float that moves the needle in the fuel gauge. The fuel tank replacement caps have KELCH stamped into the bottom of the cap. This recall involves Kohler 100-amp service entrance rated automatic transfer switches used with Kohler brand residential and commercial generators. "Kohler" is printed on the outside panel. Model number RXT-JFNC 100ASE and the serial number are printed on a nameplate located on the inside cover of the unit. Read more.

This recall involves Honda portable gasoline generators with model numbers EB2800i and EG2800i. The recalled portable generators have a red front cover and a black metal frame. The EB2800i has a silver-colored control panel and the EG2800i has a black-colored control panel. "HONDA" and the generator model number are printed on the control panel. The serial number is located on a lower black metal frame towards the rear of the generator. This recall involves the following Kohler portable generator models: PRO3.7, PRO3.7E, PRO5.2, PRO5.2E, and GEN5.0 with Spec Number PA-GEN50-3003. These generators have black frame assemblies and blue fuel tanks. The PRO3.7, PRO5.2 and GEN5.0 models have manual recoil start. The PRO3.7E and PRO5.2E have both manual recoil and electric start. Only generators with serial number 4528733735 or lower, and a manufacture date prior to 06 2016, representing the months and year of manufacture, are included in this recall. Model numbers, serial numbers, spec number and manufacturing date codes are on a silver label placed on each generator on the lower black frame assemblies. Read more.

This recall involves the 2014 Honda gasoline-powered EU7000isN AT generator. The recalled model is a 7,000-watt generator. It is red with a black metal frame, folding handles and two wheels on the side opposite the handles. The generator measures about 33 1/2 inches long by 26 1/2 inches wide by 27 1/2 inches tall with the handles folded. "Honda," "FI" and "EU7000is" are printed on the side of the generator. "Honda" is also on the front of the generator above the control panel. The full model name "EU7000isN AT" is on the UPC label near the fuel level indicator on the top of the generator. Recalled generators have a serial number in the range EEJD-1000001 to EEJD 1006288. The serial number is on the inside of the side cover that is to the right of the control panel. Read more.

The recalled portable gasoline generators are Subaru models SGX3500, SGX5000 and SGX7500. They have yellow fuel tanks and black frames with collapsible handles. The word "Subaru" is on the fuel tank and is on the control panel under the Subaru logo. The Product, or Spec, number and serial number are on the end of the fuel tank above the wheels. This recall involves Honda gasoline-powered portable generators with model number EU2000i and serial numbers EAAJ-2260273 through EAAJ-2485025. The generators are black and red in color or have a camouflage design. They measure about 20 inches long by 11 ½ inches wide by 16 ½ inches tall. “Honda,” “EU converter” and the model number 2000i are printed on the side of the generator. “Companion” is printed on the side of some EU2000i models. The recalled portable generators have "Powermate 5500" printed on the side of the black generator with wheels. These generators were sold under the model name Sx5500 and model number PM0125500.
