Hazard: The latches can fail and the door cannot be unlocked from the inside, posing an entrapment risk. This failure could lead to the inability to vacate a location in an emergency.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled locksets. For Stanley Commercial Hardware-branded locksets, consumers should contact Stanley Commercial Hardware and for all other brands, consumers should contact Stanley Security Solutions Taiwan to receive a free replacement latch or to schedule an appointment to have the latches replaced free of charge if the lockset is already installed.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received four reports of the latches failing. No injuries have been reported.

Sold At: Stanley Commercial Hardware and other lock distributor and retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com and Grainger.com from February 2016 through September 2016 for between $170 and $320.
