The recalled Fireplace in a Box kit includes a 2.5-inch high by 2.5-inch wide plastic fireplace that resembles stone masonry with a black mantle, a tea light candle to fit inside the fireplace, and a small booklet "Fireplace in a Box." Apollo® Item #VWBUL44 (Office Depot Model #177-446) is steel, has a pyramid design, has three shelves, stands 44 inches high and comes with a three-outlet electrical assembly, including a cord-winding bracket. The affected Model VWBUL44 Carts have a model number tag on the underside of the top shelf that reads: "SC: 18" and a date code "REF" date code of 07/26/05 or later. Read more.


April 18, 2006 Nordstrom Inc. Recalls Egg-Shaped Candle Holders for Fire Hazard

The recalled product is an egg-shaped tea light candle holder sold under style numbers 2C0755A, 2C0755B, and 2C0755C. The tea light holder came in the colors sky blue, pool blue and lavender. Both the style number and the color can be found on a sticker at the bottom of the candle holder. Read more.


April 11, 2006 Yamaha Corp. of America Recalls Bench Sold with Digital Piano Due to Collapse Hazard

The YDP213 Digital Piano is black with a black and white keyboard and brown trim. The bench is black with a cushioned seat. White stick-on labels on the underside of the bench give the assembly instructions and references several requirements. All labels have Yamaha written on them. The serial number and "Made in China" is stamped on the underside of the seat. The YDP213 Digital Piano and BC-104DR(U) Keyboard Bench are sold together with the bench boxed within the piano box. The model number of the bench appears only on the box within the piano box and not on the bench itself. Read more.

The recalled three piece set includes a desk, computer stand and chair. Model number NF913232 is located on the product's box. The chair in the office set is gray with a black seat and a silver tubular metal frame. Read more.


March 29, 2006 Signals Catalogue Corp. Recall Underground Neon Signs for Burn Hazard

The London Underground Neon Wall Sign is made of metal with glass tubing, containing neon gas and includes an AC adaptor. It was sold under item #HB3163, but this is not written on the sign. It is 14.5 inches by 12 inches, and is a licensed product from the London Transport Museum. There is a label attached to back of sign, which reads: "UNDERGROUND®; ©Transport for London; Exclusively designed Underground product, ©TfL registered user no. 04/4088." Read more.


March 22, 2006 Rocking Chairs Sold at Wal-Mart Recalled for Fall Hazard

The recall involves three models of rocking chairs, the Mainstays Love Seat Rocker (Model IT-13380) and the Mainstays Porch Rocker (Model IT-13379 and IT-13270). The Love Seat Rocker is wooden, white and seats two persons. The back support frame and the seat are made of slats. "Made in China" is printed on a sticker under the seat. The wooden Porch Rocker is sold in white and "natural" (light brown) color and seats only one person. "Made in Indonesia" is printed on a sticker under the Porch Rocker's seat. March 15, 2006 Coca-Cola ElectroPlasma Lamps Sold at Rite Aid Recalled for Burn Hazard

These lamps are in the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle. They are about 13.5 inches high. The inside of ElectroPlasma lamps simulate lightning bolts. A label on the bottom of the black base of the lamp reads, "Model No: 23-103," and "Lipan Industrial Co., Ltd." Read more.


March 8, 2006 Fire and Burn Hazards Prompt Nite Lite Recall

The recalled "Forever-Glo Nite Lites™" look like small picture frames that plug into the wall. Only model numbers 75001 or 75002 with a manufacture date of April 2004 or later are included in this recall. Model 75001 is white or bronze-colored and has molded scroll-work around the front of the nite lite. "Model 75001" is printed on the back of the nite lite. Model 75002 is silver-colored and has a punched tin frame. "Model C8A5" is printed on the back. Both nite lite models measure about 3 inches by 3 inches and are about ¼ inch thick. "AmerTac™" and a circle with the month and year of manufacture are indicated on the back of the nite lites. Read more.
