March 28, 2005 Nature's Finest Recall of Gel Candles

The gel candles come in a glass container in either 5.5-oz or 11-oz. sizes. They were sold in multiple colors and scents. There is a label on the front of the candle reading "Nature's Finest Candles." The UPC codes of the recalled candles, located on a sticker on the bottom of the candles, are 3863300100 through 3863300114 and 3863300200 through 3863300214. This recall includes only Nature's Finest gel candles. Other Nature's Finest candles are not involved in this recall. Read more.


March 14, 2005 Skylighter Inc. Recall of Musical Flower Birthday Candleholders

The candleholder is shaped like a lotus flower. It is plastic and consists of eight small candles that are ignited by a center flame. The small candles open up to resemble a flower blooming. March 8, 2005 Lithonia Lighting Recall of Indoor HID Light Fixtures

These are Indoor HID light fixtures with acrylic lenses and/or reflectors. They are generally used in industrial and commercial locations such as retail spaces, warehouses, and gymnasiums. Only certain models of specific wattage lights are included in the recall. Check the Lithonia Web site for a list of the specific model and wattage combinations included. All recalled fixtures were manufactured in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and have a date of manufacture from November 2002 through October 2003. The models, wattages, city and date of manufacture, and “Lithonia” can be found on a label attached to the ballast housing. This recall also includes certain ballast repair kits. Read more.



February 18, 2005 Gardener's Supply Company Recall of Rope Candle and Holder

The Rope Candle is a 21-foot coiled beeswax candle that feeds up to a scissors-like vise. The candle is lit above the vise. The candle is 7-inches tall and sits on an antiqued copper-finish holder. Sold at: Gardener's Supply retail store in Burlington, Vt., and in the Holiday 2004 Gardener's Supply Catalog sold the candles from October 20 through November 12, 2004. Manufactured In: China. Remedy: The firm has designed a scissor like attachment that fits on top of the clamp (vise). This cuts the wax from the sides and extinguishes the flame, preventing the candle from burning below the attachment and igniting the entire candle. The firm will either replace the candle with the new fitting, give store credit for the original cost of the rope candle or give a full refund.
