December 15, 2006 Nintendo of America Initiates Replacement Program for Wrist Straps Used with Controllers for the Wii Video Game System

The wrist straps are sold with Nintendo's Wii video game system (pronounced "we"). Its controller, called the Wii Remote, is shaped like a TV remote. Sensors determine the Wii Remote's position in 3-D space, which means that a tennis swing, for example, is done through movement of a consumer's hand rather than by just fingers and thumbs. The cords on the wrist straps included in this program are 0.6mm in diameter. The replacement cords are 1.0 mm in diameter (see photo below). Read more.


February 23, 2006 Chicken Limbo Party Games Recalled After 23 Reports of Injuries

The recalled "Chicken Limbo" is a plastic electronic game consisting of two red vertical poles set in yellow bases and an orange horizontal bar with a plastic white chicken at the center of the bar. The game is intended for children age 4 and up. Read more.


September 13, 2005 Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. Recall of Certain AC Adaptors Sold with Slim Version PlayStation 2 Systems

The recall involves AC adaptors with the following date codes: 2004.08, 2004.09, 2004.10, 2004.11 and 2004.12 and serial numbers beginning with "F3". The date code is located in a white box on the lower right hand portion of the adaptor's label. Just below the date code box is a serial number beginning with "F3" followed by a series of digits. Adaptors with other date codes and without the "F3" serial numbers are not included in this recall. The AC adaptors were sold with slim version PlayStation® 2 consoles with model number SCPH-70011 or SCPH-70012. The PlayStation® 2 model number is located on a label at the base of the slim console. August 25, 2005 Hidden Hills Productions, Inc. Recall of Floor Mat Map Games

The floor map game consists of a 6-foot by 5.5-foot vinyl Maptangle™ floor mat that has various multicolored geographic locations and landmarks painted on the floor mat and a set of 103 playing cards consisting of corresponding geographic locations and landmarks. The object of the game is for a team of players to locate, and place their feet on all of the landmarks and geographic locations. The game is age-graded for children 7 years and up. This recall pertains only to the floor mat, and does not include any other components of the game. Floor mat map games with manufacture date codes are not subject to this recall. Read more.


November 30, 2004 Classic Sport Companies Inc. Recall of Table Soccer Games

The recall involves Classic Sport Underlit Table Soccer game, models X0725, X0743 and X0761. The table soccer game is a soccer table with a glass playing surface and fluorescent tube lighting mounted underneath, causing the playing surface to illuminate when turned on. Read more.
