Recalls: Bicycles and Bicycle Accessories
This recall involves "eebrake" model aftermarket brakes sold between September, 2008 and March, 2011 for use on adult road racing bicycles. The recalled models have both a white "ee" logo on the front of the brakes and a five-digit serial number beginning with either "80xxx" or "09xxx" engraved on either the front or the back of the strut portion of the brake. This recall involves model year 2010 Catbike Musashi recumbent bicycles. The bicycles were sold in the following colors: black, white, silver, yellow, orange, red, lime green, pink, blue, candy purple, candy red, candy green, candy blue and sparkle orange. "Musashi" is printed on the frame and "Catbike" is printed on the seat, frame and headrest. Serial numbers CBM0002 to CBM0170 are included in this recall. The serial number can be found underneath the main frame where the seat bottom is located. Read more.
The recalled tricycles are battery powered with 24" wheels and a basket between the rear wheels. Their brand name, eZip or iZip, is printed on the sides of the bike and above the front wheel. Bikes were sold in the following colors: red, blue and sand. Recalled tricycles are in the serial number range ACB06L00001 to ACB10H99999. Serial numbers are engraved on the frame under the handlebar support on the front of the tricycle. Model numbers include EZ-TRY-SD, IZ-TRY-RD, IZ-TRICR7-BL and IZ-TRY8-BL. Read more.
The recall involves all 4ZA 31.8 threadless bicycle handlebar stems sold as individual aftermarket components. The stems are black and have the words "4ZA Cycling Performance" painted on the carbon extension between the steerer clamp and handlebar clamp. The recalled stems range in extension lengths from 90mm to 130mm, approximately 3.5 to 5 inches. Read more.
This recall involves all Salsa Minimalist bicycle racks sold after January 2011. The racks are made of tubular aluminum with a black or silver finish, and can be installed on either the front or rear of a bicycle. The recalled bicycle racks have steel mounting brackets, identified as straps, with a single hole in the center used to mount the strap to the bicycle fork. "Salsa" is printed on the side of the bicycle rack. Read more.
The recalled products are Tektro TL-83 brake levers. TL-83 levers are designed exclusively for use with aerodynamic handlebars (aerobars) sold as original equipment on 2010 and 2011 S-Works Shiv bicycle frame modules and 2012 S-Works Shiv TT bicycle frame modules. They are also sold as aftermarket service parts for these modules. The levers are modified versions of the TL-720 brake lever. They are black aluminum and have a quick release slot at the top of the lever arm. Model number “TL-720” can be read on the side of the lever arm when braking action is applied. Read more.

This recall involves 18 models of women’s and men’s Public Bikes. The bicycles are various colors and sizes. “Public” or “Publicbikes.com” is printed on either the bicycle chain guard or the rear fender. The bicycles have a metal “badge” at the top of the down tube with a number stamped on it. Recalled badge numbers are 1-5843, 5845, 12560, 20743 and 20757. The “Apple” model, which has no badge, is also included. The word “Wellgo” is embossed on both the top and bottom of the pedals. All bicycles with Wellgo pedals are included in this recall. This recall involves GORE® Ride On® Low Friction System brake cables for road bikes and GORE® Ride On® Professional System brake cables for road bikes. The cables are silver and are available with housings in black, white, blue or red. "GORE Ride-On" is printed on the housing for the Low Friction cable. "GORE Ride-On Professional" is printed on the housing for the Professional System cables. The cables are being recalled only if they were installed on road bikes that use a Campagnolo-style brake lever. The ends, or attachment heads, on the Campagnolo systems have the letters "C" "CC," or "RO" imprinted on them. This recall involves PRO Atherton direct mount bicycle handlebar stems with the model number PRSS0049 and supplied from October 2009 to November 2010. The stem consists of a metal alloy body and front plate and four alloy bolts. The stem body is black with red markings. It has the word "PRO" in four places on the sides and the word "Atherton." The front plate is black and silver with the PRO logo in the center. The model number is located on the barcode sticker on the backside bottom of the packaging material. Stems with the following identification codes are being recalled: HH, HJ, HK, HL, IA, IC, ID, IE and IF. Some of these stems were outfitted with 18mm bolts instead of 21mm bolts.
