December 4, 2014 Salsa Cycles Recalls Bicycle Forks Due to Risk of Fall Hazard

This recall involves all aluminum Salsa Bearpaw forks sold separately and on Mukluk bicycles. The forks have date code 20130524, 20130710 or 20130826 stamped on the fork steerer, followed by "CWI2201BAN2" and a Salsa compass graphic on the bend of the fork blades. Consumers or the dealer will need to disassemble the front of the bicycle to access the steerer tube with the date code and model information. The forks were sold in "tequila lime" with black paint, "metallic gold," red and black. The bikes were sold in sizes x-small, small, medium, large and x-large. Read more.


December 2, 2014 Felt Bicycles Recalls Cyclocross Bicycles Due to Risk of Injury

This recall includes Felt Cyclocross bicycles 2015 models F65X and F85X. The 2015 F65X bicycle has a satin black aluminum frame with "Felt" printed in white letters and a diagonal wide white stripe next to a thin white stripe on the frame. The 2015 F85X bicycle has a dark red berry colored aluminum frame with diagonal stripes in black, mint green and yellow on the frame. The Felt logo is printed on the bike frame and the model number is printed on the chainstay of the bicycle frame. Read more.


November 25, 2014 Pro Armor Recalls Doors for Polaris RZR 800 and 900 Utility Vehicles Due to Impact, Laceration Hazards

This recall involves Pro Armor doors sold as accessories for model year 2010 through 2014 Polaris RZR 800 and RZR 900 models. The doors have a black powder coated finish and have four major components: a large square sheet metal panel, a smaller triangular sheet metal panel, a tubular metal frame and a latch. The panels are interchangeable and come in two styles. One style has cutout vents along the top and the other style has none. The smaller panel has a white Pro Armor logo below the cutouts. The door frame has the logo and "Pro Armor" on the top tube. The latch is silver with a black locking mechanism that attaches to the vehicle frame and a handle that attaches to the door. Read more.


November 18, 2014 Black Diamond Equipment Recalls Whippet Ski Poles Due to Risk of Injury

This recall includes Black Diamond Whippet and Whippet Carbon ski poles manufactured May 2013 through January 2014. The Whippet is gray with two telescoping shafts and the Carbon Whippet is black with three telescoping shafts. The upper shaft of both models is made of aluminum and has a black and orange rubber handgrip with a built-in, stainless steel, serrated pick and a black nylon wrist strap with a an orange Black Diamond logo. "Black Diamond" and the Black Diamond logo are on the upper shaft of both models. The Whippet has an aluminum lower shaft with an orange and silver locking mechanism. "Whippet" and the logo are on the lower shaft. The middle and lower shafts of the Carbon Whippet are made of carbon fiber and have orange and silver locking mechanisms. "Carbon Whippet" and the logo are on the lower shaft. Both models have a 4-inch plastic powder basket on the lower shaft near the tip and graduation marks on the shafts to show the various lengths of the pole in centimeters. The Whippet can be extended from 99 centimeters (39 inches) to 142 centimeters (56 inches) long. The Carbon Whippet can be extended from 67.9 centimeters (26.75 inches) to 142 centimeters (56 inches) long. Recalled poles have picks with polished surfaces, a notch in the top of the pick and a date code between 13121 and 14015 etched on the pole. The date code can be found by removing the locking mechanism on the middle shaft of the Carbon Whippet and the lower shaft of the Whippet. Read more.


November 13, 2014 Ventamatic Recalls Cool Draft Misting Fans Due to Risk of Fire and Electric Shock

This recall involves Cool Draft misting mid-pressure and high-pressure misting fans. The misting fans fit on top of 15-gallon yellow or orange round Igloo coolers or on top of gray 40-gallon water tanks. Cool Draft by Ventamatic is printed on a sticker on the fan's water tank and www.cooldraft.com is printed on a sticker in the center of all of fans. Read more.


November 12, 2014 Aqua Lung Expands Recall of Buoyancy Compensators Due to Drowning Hazard

This recall involves all Aqua Lung buoyancy compensator vests with SureLock II rubber handles attached to the weight pockets, including those with SureLock II handles that were replaced in the previous recall. The handles are gray rubber, measure about 2 inches tall by 4 inches wide and extend from the forward end of the ditchable weight pockets. SureLock II handles were installed in most Aqua Lung and one model of Apeks buoyancy compensators including: all discontinued Black Diamond, Pro QD and Pro QDi3 models with serial numbers lower than BB408620. The recall also includes all Apeks Black Ice, Axiom, Axiom i3, Balance, Dimension, Libra, Lotus, Pearl, Pearl i3, ProLT and Zuma models with serial numbers lower than BB408620. The buoyancy compensator's model name is embroidered on the inside back pad or on the right lobe. "Sure Lock" is molded into the back of the weight pocket. The serial numbers are located on a tag under the back pad of the buoyance compensator or inside the pocket. Earlier models could have the number printed on a tag behind the hook and loop inflator hold down on the left shoulder. Read more.


October 29, 2014 Cane Creek Recalls Bicycle Shocks Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves Cane Creek Cycling Components DBINLINE bicycle rear shock absorbers. The shocks are marked with graphics that incorrectly identify the adjustment directions for High Speed Rebound (HSR) damping. HSR on the shock is decreased by turning the adjuster counter-clockwise and increased by turning it clockwise. The incorrect graphics present the opposite; that is, the plus(+) and minus(-) symbols are switched. The consumer can be misled or confused when adjusting HSR on these shocks. The shocks come in black anodized aluminum with the words "INLINE" marked on the air can portion of the shock and are attached to a full-suspension mountain bike frame. Recalled products have a serial number on the underside of the top valve body in the following ranges: AA00002 - AA07304 and SA00077 - SA03926. October 23, 2014 Arctic Cat Recalls Single-Rider and 2UP ATVs Due To Crash Hazard

This recall involves model year 2008 and 2009 Arctic Cat single-rider and 2 UP style ATVs. Single-rider ATVs have one seat and one set of footrests for the operator. 2 UP ATVs have an elongated seat designed to hold one passenger behind the operator, a set of hand-holds mounted to the rear frame for the passenger and two sets of footrests. The recalled ATVs came in a variety of colors and have the name Arctic Cat on each side of the fuel tank and on the front above the grill opening. All model year 2008 Arctic Cat ATVs with 400 cubic centimeter (cc) and larger engines are being recalled. Model year 2009 Arctic Cat ATVs with 400 cubic centimeter (cc) and larger engines and with production numbers within the following ranges are being recalled: 200001 through 203861, 808001 through 808137, and X25082 through X30243. The engine size is printed on the back of the instrument cluster between the handle bars. The vehicle identification number (VIN) in the format 4UF09******XXXXXX is on the frame tube near the driver's side rear wheel and contains the model year and production number of the vehicle. The model year is the fourth and fifth characters of the VIN in the YY format. The production number is the last six characters of the VIN. Read more.


October 16, 2014 American Honda Recalls Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles Due to Fire Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves all models of the 2014 Honda Pioneer 700 recreational off-highway vehicle (ROV). ROVs are motorized off-road vehicles with a steering wheel, gas and brake pedals, bucket or bench seats, seat belts and an occupant protection structure. The recalled vehicles came in two-seat and four-seat models and were black with camouflage, olive or red hood and trim pieces. "HONDA" is on the front grill and rear tail gate. "Pioneer 700" appears on a tab on the sides of the vehicle just behind the driver's and front passenger's seats. The model and serial numbers are on a certification label affixed to the top rear of the driver's side front wheel well. October 10, 2014 Louis Garneau Recalls Aerodynamic Bicycle Helmets Due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves Louis Garneau P-09 aerodynamic bicycle helmets with model number 1405362. The helmets are shaped like tear drops with a rounded front and a short, tapered tail. The outer shells of the helmets are made of polycarbonate and have a built-in visor system, dimples on the top like those on a golf ball, a small rectangular vent in the front and a triangular vent in the rear. The helmets came in three color schemes: black with red and white designs, white with blue and gray designs, and white with silver and white designs. The word "Garneau" is located on both sides of the helmet and the Louis Garneau logo is on the front under the vent. Recalled helmets have the manufacture date "Jan. 2014" on a sticker inside the helmet. Read more.
