May 1, 2014 Altria Group Distribution Company Recalls Flashlight Due to Burn, Injury Hazards; Distributed Exclusively through Marlboro Promotion (Recall Alert)

The recalled product is a bronze-colored 3-in-1 flashlight that was distributed as a promotional item for Marlboro brand cigarettes. The flashlight is 4.5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter and has five LED lights. It has a compartment for storing matches and an end cap that has compass in the top. The cap with the compass has a striker pad on the inside. It came with 20 wooden matches and a removable foam insert between the matches and the striker pad. Read more.


February 19, 2014 Lucent Ace Manufacturing Recalls LED Flashlights Due to Burn Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Academy Sports + Outdoors

January 23, 2014 Rayovac Flashlights Recalled by Spectrum Brands Due to Burn Hazard

This recall involves Rayovac LED Industrial flashlights (model ILED2AA) with run times of 25 or 50 hours, Rayovac Value Bright LED plastic flashlights (model BRSELED2AA-BA), and Rayovac Value Bright flashlights (model BRSELED2AA-BDGDI). The flashlights use two AA batteries. They measure about 6 ½ inches long and the flashlight head is about 1 1/3 inches in diameter. They were sold in the following colors: solid red, blue, green or black with yellow. Rayovac is printed on the head of the flashlight. The following date codes are included in the recall: E/J-C, H/F-C, I/F-C, L/F-C, M/W-C, O/F-C, R/F-C, R/J-C, S/J-C, T/F-C, U/F-C and Y/J-C. October 30, 2013 HeathCo Recalls Motion-Activated Outdoor Lights Due to Electrical Shock Hazard

This recall includes multiple Heath®/Zenith Motion Activated Outdoor Lights used for porch lighting. The product comes in 21 designs with a variety of finishes and is designed to turn on at night when motion is detected. The product replaces a standard outdoor wall-mounted light fixture. The brand name and model number can be found on a label located on the back of the motion sensor for wall-mounted models, or underneath the motion sensor cover for ceiling-mounted models. July 17, 2013 Industrial Revolution Recalls LED Lanterns Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively at REI Stores

The recalled UCO Arka LED lantern can be used as a flashlight, a lantern or a USB charger. It has a red cap around the flashlight lens, a collapsible clear plastic lantern top and a black base with red extendable feet. It comes with a rechargeable 3.7V 4Ah Lithium-ion battery, a USB cable and a wall charger. The lantern is 7.7 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. It collapses to 5.25 inches tall when closed. "UCO" and an image of a flame are printed in red on the base. There are two USB ports (USB-A and USB-mini) under recessed caps on the base of the lantern, just above the red ring at the bottom. The wall charger is a one-inch black plastic cube with a white-faced plug. Model number "A1265" is printed above the plug's prongs and a small green dot appears below on the lower corner. November 1, 2012 Atico International USA Recalls Halloween Mini Projection Lights Due to Burn Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Five Below

This recall involves plastic Halloween mini projection lights. They are about 6 inches long and have Halloween-themed black designs on them. They were sold in orange, green and purple. The projection lights came in a cardboard blister pack with a purple background. The phrase "Ghouloween" is printed on the upper left-hand corner. Read more.


July 26, 2012 Motion Sensing Security Lights Recalled by HeathCo due to Electrical Shock Hazard

This recall involves Heath®/Zenith 270° Motion Security Lights with model number SL-5414-WH. It replaces a standard outdoor wall mounted light fixture and is designed to turn on when motion is detected at night. The product has two cone-shaped lightbulb receptacles attached to a round mounting plate. A small, rectangular motion sensor is attached to the mounting plate between the lightbulb receptacles. The unit is made of aluminum and plastic. It comes in white only. The brand name and model number are on a label located on the back of the motion sensor. Read more.


June 19, 2012 Bel Air Lighting Recalls Outdoor Wall Mount Lanterns Due to Fire, Burn and Shock Hazards

This recall involves outdoor wall-mount lanterns made of cast aluminum in a rust color with beveled glass. A question mark shaped piece of metal connects the lantern body to the wall-mount plate. The lanterns were sold at Lowe's stores under the Portfolio brand name with item number 253366 and at lighting showrooms with item number 44181. The brand name and item number are printed on the product's packaging. Lanterns included in the recall are 19.25-inches tall by 9.75-inches wide by 9.25-inches deep and have a three-light candelabra base cluster inside. Part number "E194303" is printed on the base plate and on a label affixed to one of the light sockets. Read more.


January 26, 2012 BJ's Recalls LED Flashlight Sets Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The recall involves Superex SAFETO GO LED flashlight and battery sets. The flashlight sets include one 9.5-inch flashlight with 10 LEDs, two 7.5-inch flashlights with seven LEDs and two 6-inch flashlights with five LEDs. The sets also include seven “D” size batteries and four “AA” size batteries. The flashlights in the sets are made of either red or black plastic with black or gray rubber around the handles and light bases. The words “Superex,” “SAFETO GO Family Pack,” and “Bright White LED Flashlights” appear on the front of the packaging.
