This recall involves Wild Country brand Superlight Rocks (model number 40-RSL) and Superlight Rocks Set 1-6 (model number 40-RSLSET) single cable wire chocks used for climbing. Superlight Rocks were sold as a set of 6 and individually in six different sizes and colors including: size 1 purple, size 2 green, size 3 silver, size 4 gold, size 5 blue and size 6 red. September 8, 2022 Tethrd Recalls One Stick GEN 2 Climbing Sticks Due to Fall and Injury Hazards (Recall Alert)

This recall involves 2022 model year Tethrd One Stick GEN 2 climbing sticks with serial numbers ranging from THSP-TONE-010000 to THSP-TONE-017749. The serial number is located on the back side of the rope locking system (Dynaloc). The rope locking system is the black rectangle on the side of the stick with the silver Tethrd logo. Read more.

The Beal Birdie Belay Device is used by rock climbers. Belay devices are used with climbing ropes to protect the climber while climbing, to arrest a fall or while being lowered on the rope. The Beal Birdie Belay Device was sold in three colors: Orange handle, Blue handle or Green handle. This recall involves all units laser-marked with batch year "/19" on the side of the unit. The recalled low-stretch kernmantle ropes are designed for professional use, including work-at-height use, difficult access, technical rescue and industrial applications; and for recreational use, including climbing, caving and mountaineering. The ropes have a nylon core and polyester sheath material. Only ropes with serial numbers ranging between 18 C 0000000 000 and 20 H 0000000 000 are included in the recall. The ropes are black with orange lines and were sold in a single or three pack. They have a carabineer that hooks onto the harness and a black and red label with the style number HEH01299, HEH01882Z, or HEH01530 printed in the bottom corner of the label. Read more.

August 29, 2019 Decathlon USA Recalls Carabiners Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death

This recall involves Rocky Screwgate aluminum and pear shaped Carabiners with a small gate and screwgate. They were sold under the SIMOND brand in yellow (item number 1760147) and blue (item number 1759997). The brand name is engraved on the side of the product. The item number was printed on the carboard that was attached to the product. Carabiners are typically used by climbers as connectors or as extenders to anchor a climber. Read more.


August 7, 2019 Seattle Manufacturing Corporation Recalls Ice Axes Due to Serious Injury and Fall Hazards

This recall involves Kobah Ice Axes of lengths 60, 65, 70 and 75 centimeters. The axes each have a steel pick and adze joined at the top of an orange aluminum handle shaft by a black polyamide resin head. There is a steel spike in the bottom of the handle shaft. "Kobah," "SMC" and Manufacturer's Lot Number (MLN) 10864 are printed on the handle shaft. Read more.
