August 25, 2016 Whirlpool Recalls Microwaves Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Whirlpool brand microwave hood combinations. The microwave ovens were sold in stainless steel, black and white. Model numbers and serial numbers are located on the inside of the unit, above the oven cavity on the left hand side. August 25, 2016 All Power Portable Generators Recalled by J.D. North America Due to Explosion, Fire and Burn Hazards

This recall involves All Power portable gasoline generators with model numbers APGG6000 and APGG7500. The black and red generators have a black fuel tank on top of the units. Model APGG6000 generators are rated at 6,000 watts and have UPC code 8 4676600055 3 and serial number JD29014S18035 through JD29014U020742. Model APGG7500 generators are rated at 7,500 watts and have UPC code 8 4676600056 0 and serial number JD42014S16027 through JD42014T210606. The model number is located on both sides of the unit. The UPC code and serial number can be found on a silver plate on the upper right hand-side of the back side panel. Read more.


August 9, 2016 Kohler Power Systems Recalls Portable Generators Due to Shock Hazard

This recall involves the following Kohler portable generator models: PRO3.7, PRO3.7E, PRO5.2, PRO5.2E, and GEN5.0 with Spec Number PA-GEN50-3003. These generators have black frame assemblies and blue fuel tanks. The PRO3.7, PRO5.2 and GEN5.0 models have manual recoil start. The PRO3.7E and PRO5.2E have both manual recoil and electric start. Only generators with serial number 4528733735 or lower, and a manufacture date prior to 06 2016, representing the months and year of manufacture, are included in this recall. Model numbers, serial numbers, spec number and manufacturing date codes are on a silver label placed on each generator on the lower black frame assemblies. Read more.


March 31, 2016 CE North America Expands Recall of Fan Heaters Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively at H-E-B

This recall involves KUL small, white portable fan heaters. The KUL logo is printed on the front bottom of the heaters next to the power dial. The fan heater measures about 9 inches long by 5 inches wide by 10.5 inches tall. The fans weigh about two pounds. An adhesive label is on the bottom of the heater with model number "KU39221" and "Date: 0715" in the lower right-hand corner. KUL black units were involved in the previous recall. Read more.


March 31, 2016 Gamewell-FCI Recalls Fire Alarm Panels Due to Failure to Alert of a Fire, Smoke or CO

This recall is for the ILI-MB-E3 and ILI-S-E3 Gamewell-FCI fire alarm panels in commercial buildings. This issue is limited to a specific configuration of Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) devices. To occur, the SLC must include at least two of the following detectors in any combination: Acclimate, 4-Warn, Photo/CO and iFAAST. The issue would occur only if the detectors are addressed within the same FlashScan polling group. Detectors installed in a different combination are not affected. Read more.


March 10, 2016 Carlin Recalls Williamson and Thermoflo Furnaces and Boilers Equipped with Carlin Burners Due to Fire Hazard (Recall Alert)

The recall includes Williamson and Thermoflo furnaces and boilers with Carlin oil burners with an installation date label between April 1, 2015 and November 31, 2015. The installation date is printed on a label on the outside of the furnace or boiler. Recalled furnaces have a Carlin burner inside of the furnace, behind the furnace grate. Recalled boilers have a Carlin burner attached to the outside of the boiler enclosure. "Carlin" is printed in white letters on the face of the burner nameplate. Read more.


February 25, 2016 Viessmann Recalls Gas Boilers Due to Fire and Carbon Monoxide Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves the Vitodens 200-W condensing gas boilers used for residential use. These wall-hung units are housed in a white metal box that measures about 43.5 inches tall by 19 inches wide by 21 inches deep. There are two models: B2HB-45 and B2HB-57 included in this recall. The name "Vitodens" and "Viessmann" are printed on the label on the outside of the boiler box. The product name and model number can be found on the boiler rating plate located on the left side of the white boiler cover. The serial number can be found on a separate label under the boiler cover or on the left hand side of the unit. Recalled boilers do not have a blue dot with a handwritten data label on it. February 24, 2016 England's Stove Works Recalls to Repair Freestanding Pellet Stoves Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves Smartstove free standing pellet stoves, with model number 55-SHSSP01 and serial numbers ranging from 101 through 2513. The cast iron pellet stove is about 36 inches high, 24 ½ inches wide, 24 inches deep and has a black satin finish. It has an arched glass door on the front with vents above the door. The Smartstove logo appears on the stove's control panel. The model and serial numbers are located on a black plate on the top right hand corner on the back of the stove. Read more.


February 17, 2016 Goodman Company Expands Recall of Air Conditioning and Heating Units Due to Burn and Fire Hazards

This recall involves Amana, Century, Comfort-Aire, Goodman and York International-branded Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps (PTAC), and Amana-branded Room Air Conditioners (RAC). The units are rated 230/208 volt, 3.5 kW and are most often installed through the walls of hotels, motels, apartment buildings and commercial spaces to provide room climate control. The RAC units are installed through the walls or windows of the same types of properties. The recalled units are beige and have serial numbers ranging from 0701009633 through 0804272329. The brand name is located on the unit's front cover. The serial number is located on the label found by lifting the front cover of PTAC units or the grille of RAC units. Additionally, any PTAC and RAC units that have a beige power cord labeled with a four-digit date code in the MMYY format and ending in 06 or 07, or ranging from 0108 through 1808 are included in this recall.
