February 23, 2017 Carrier Expands Recall of Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps Due to Fire Hazard

This expanded recall involves Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) and Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps (PTHP) sold under the Bryant, Carrier and Fast brand names. Recalled units include those with original power cords and those that received a replacement power cord as part of the 2007 recall. The recalled units have capacities of 7,000; 9,000; 12,000 and 15,000 BTUs and plug into 208/230-volt, 20-amp outlets. The following brands and models are being recalled: • Carrier models 52CE, 52CQ, 52PE, 52PQ, 52PC, 52ME, 53MQ; • Bryant models 840, 841, and 842; and • Fast models 840, 841, and 842. Model and serial numbers are located on the ratings/data plate on the right front of the unit, underneath the removable front panel. January 31, 2017 Teufelberger Recalls Rescue Ropes and Throwlines Due to Fall and Injury Hazards

This recall involves CMC and New England Ropes brand 7.5 mm and 8 mm static ropes and throwlines used for rescue operations. The recalled rope models are the CMC Escape Line 5/16"/8mm (orange with yellow tracer), New England Ropes Aramid 7.5mm (tan with black tracer) and New England Ropes KM-III 5/16"/8mm (white with blue tracer). The recalled throwline model is New England Ropes NFPA (yellow with red tracer). Only ropes and throwlines with lot numbers that begin with 160101 through 1609915 are included in this recall. The model name and lot number is printed on the end band label on the rope and on the product's packaging. The ropes and throwlines were sold in lengths ranging from 150 to 2,400 feet. Read more.

November 23, 2016 Six Brands of Dry Carpet Cleaning Powder Recalled by Milliken Due to Risk of Exposure to Bacteria

This recall involves Arm & Hammer, Capture, Healthy Home, Oreck, Resista and Riccar brands of dry carpet cleaners. The powder can be sprinkled on carpets and rugs to clean and deodorize them. The dry carpet cleaner was sold in various sizes and lot numbers. The lot number is printed on stickers on each container marked with a letter followed by the five-digit lot number. Capture and Resista brand dry carpet cleaners were sold individually and as part of a cleaning kit including a pre-mist spray and a brush. November 10, 2016 Kidde Recalls Combination Smoke/CO Alarms Due to Alarm Failure

This recall involves Kidde NightHawk talking combo smoke/CO alarm with model number KN-COSM-IB and manufacture dates between June 1, 2004 and December 31, 2010. The alarms are hard-wired into a home's electric power. The unit has a compartment on the back for the installation of a replaceable 9V backup battery. The alarm is white, round and measures about 5 to 6 inches in diameter. "Kidde" is engraved on the front of the alarm. "Kidde," the model number and manufacture dates are printed on a label on the back on the alarm. Read more.

This recall involves 34 models of Samsung top-load washing machines. The washing machines have mid-controls or rear-controls. Model numbers and serial information can be found on two labels affixed to the back of the machine. The following model numbers are included in the recall depending on the serial number. Consumers should check with Samsung to see if their washer is recalled. This recall involves Milwaukee-branded hand trucks with model numbers 40615 and 60610. The recalled nylon hand trucks have a one-piece, nylon-molded frame and measure 50 inches tall and 21 inches wide. Model 40615 has a black nylon body, a black foot rest and yellow handles. This recall involves 250-foot and 1,000-foot 12/2 metal clad aluminum armored cabling with date codes between August 2015 and November 2015. The cable is typically installed behind walls, connecting the circuit breaker panel to a 120-volt wall outlet or lighting switch. The date code is printed, in a MMMYY format (ex.
