October 14, 2008 Portable Generators Recalled by General Power Products Due to Fire Hazard

This recall includes the General Power Products 6000 Watt portable generator and the Poulan Pro 6000 Watt portable generator with serial numbers 060400483 through 060600725. The serial number is stamped on the engine block which is located on the front of the engine below the generator’s control panel. “General Power Products” and “6000 Generator” are printed on the side of the General Power Products generator. “Poulan Pro” and “6000 watts” are printed on the side of the Poulan Pro generator. October 9, 2008 Gas Vent Dampers Recalled by Effikal Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazard

The recall involves Effikal RVGP-PC Gas Vent Damper size 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 which are installed with the gas boiler systems listed below. The vent damper date code is located on a sticker under the motor assembly cap on the plastic base. Serial numbers are located on a label on the side of the damper’s cap. All sizes and models of the RVGP-PC have the same motor assembly with black Effikal caps and black plastic bases. Read more.


October 2, 2008 Viessmann U.S. Recalls Boilers Due to Fire Hazard

The recall involves the Vitodens 200 boiler. The gas-fired boilers are white, wall-mounted and have “Viessmann” and “Vitodens 200” printed on the exterior in silver letters. The model and serial numbers included in the recall are listed below. The model number is located on the silver rating plate on the side of the boiler. Contact your certified HVAC contractor to open the boiler and locate the serial number on a white label on the side of the boiler, or under the bottom support panel. September 11, 2008 PB Heat Recalls Gas Boilers Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazard

This recall involves the DE and PSC II Gas Fired Cast Iron Boilers with the Endura Plastics Model ES2035 pressure switch used for home heating and domestic hot water heating. The boilers were available in either natural or LP gas. The boiler rating label is located on the top jacket panel on Series PSCII models and the left side jacket panel on the Series DE models. September 11, 2008 Rugs Sold Exclusively at JC Penney Recalled by JLA Home Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled rug measures 30’’ x 54’’ and has a black-and-white zebra skin design. The rug was sold under J.C. Penney item number MF728-1050, which is located on the product’s packaging. Read more.

The recall includes 5.0 kW Amana-brand, Comfort-Aire-brand and Century-brand PTAC units with model numbers PTxxx3x50xx (Amana) and EKTxxx-150x (Comfort-Aire and Century), and serial numbers 0702112056 through 0804237539. August 20, 2008 Steam Cleaners Recalled by Thane International Due to Burn Hazard

The recalled portable hand held steam cleaners are white and dark gray. “H20” and “M” are printed on the steam cleaners. Model number YQ3888 and the “produce code” are printed on a label on the underside of the units. This recall only includes steam cleaners with “produce codes” from 071025 through 080324. Read more.


August 20, 2008 Gardner Bender Recalls Electrical Wire Splices Due to Shock and Fire Hazards

The recalled butt splices are used to connect electrical wires to one another. They are typically used for wiring small electrical appliances, like audio equipment, or in automotive applications. The splices are yellow insulated vinyl and measure about one inch long and ¼ inch wide. They were intended for use with 12-10 AWG wire. 12-10 is stamped on the side of the splices.
