September 20, 2006 Advantus Corp. Recalls Desk Lamps Due to Burn Hazard

These are Ledu-brand desk lamps with model number L462BK . The model number is written on the packaging. This recall involves lamps containing a serial number on the bottom of the lamp between A462050400001 and A462050401002. They also have a metallic UL foil sticker with E149992 written on it. August 16, 2006 Tu-Wire® Dimming Ballasts Used With Compact Fluorescent Lights Recalled for Shock Hazard

The recalled ballast is used to dim compact fluorescent lighting fixtures. The ballasts are not visible once installed. The ballasts were included with light fixtures sold under numerous brand names. Consumers should not touch these fixtures, since they could pose a shock hazard. The fixtures with these ballasts have a 120 VAC application, the fixture housing is for a 26W or 32W four-pin plug-in compact fluorescent lamp installed after July 1998. Most of the lights were sold for commercial use, though some were sold for consumer use. This recall does not involve light fixtures containing incandescent or halogen lamps or fixtures with screw-in compact fluorescent lamps or straight tube (linear) fluorescent lamps. Read more.




August 8, 2006 ElectroPlasma Lamps Sold at Spencer Gifts Stores Recalled for Fire Hazard

The recall involves the Mars Lightning 7001 dome electroplasma lamp, which simulates lightning bolts inside. It has a glass dome glued to a black base. Writing under the base includes the SKU number of 00473421, "MARS LIGHTNING7001" and "LIGHTNING 2000." Read more.

June 6, 2006 LTD Commodities LLC Recalls Ficus Trees Sold with Lights for Fire and Shock Hazards

The pre-lit 5-foot ficus tree inside a bamboo basket includes a green light string featuring 70 clear mini bulbs wrapped and attached throughout the leaves and around the trunk. A silver holograph UL sticker and cautionary label with UL File number E254698, Model no. WL-70/2C is attached to the end of the cord. At the end of the decorative light string includes a tag with the marking "E254698" and model number WL-70/2C similar to the label shown in the photograph below. Read more.



May 23, 2006 Light Fixtures Recalled After Reports of Units Falling

The recalled lighting fixtures are designed for areas that require low mounting heights and are used in parking garages, stairwells, entrances or aisles. The fixtures have a heavy-duty aluminum housing with either a white or a dark bronze finish and a glass lens. Their installed width is approximately 13 inches. The TGL and TGR series fixtures are not included in this recall, as these fixtures have a different mounting mechanism. Read more.
